Trump battles globalist Republicans -- like Ted Cruz
WND ^ | Jul 11, 2016 | Phyllis Schlafly

Posted on 07/11/2016 5:45:02 PM PDT by Ray76

Before heading to Cleveland to accept the Republican nomination for president, Donald Trump paid a high-profile visit to Capitol Hill, where he hoped to unify congressional Republicans behind his presidential campaign.

Trump’s next stop was a private meeting with Sen. Ted Cruz, who inappropriately brought his campaign manager, Jeff Roe, to the meeting. Two months after suspending his campaign, why does Cruz still utilize a high-priced campaign manager to join high-level discussions with the presumptive nominee?

The answer is that Cruz never stopped running for president [].

Cruz’s delays in endorsing Trump and his disloyal preparations to run for president in 2020 help only one person: Hillary Clinton, which is what some Republican mega-donors actually prefer, because they are globalists who oppose Trump’s stances against immigration and free trade.

The globalists will never accept Trump or anyone else who puts Americans first, and they are using Cruz to undermine Trump’s campaign.

There certainly have been quite a few of them lurching and stumbling about in here the past few days, haven't there?

(Has Obama been issuing those willy-nilly pardons again?)

“Hey, I have to deal with Social Justice Warriors all over the internet as they shut down anyone who doesn’t have the “correct” opinion.

It pisses me off when I see the same method and behavior here on Freerepublic.

The mob mentality of shutting down anyone who disagrees with the “correct” opinion is political correctness at its very core.

Disagree? Fine. But shutting out any opinion other than your own is dangerous and a sign of weakness in your arguments.

You are better than this. Freerepublic is better than this. And America deserves better.”

Yes, a lot, not all, of Trump people on FR(and Breitbart, for that matter) seem to be the most dogmatic, closed-minded, self-assured people I’ve ever dealt with. And they think the way to deal with us who don’t like Trump is to insult and intimidate.

They’ve convinced themselves that Cruz is the devil incarnate, while completely ignoring much of the wildly non-conservative past and present of Trump. They will go to extreme and contorted lengths to rationalize ridiculous things Trump says. Even though Trump has bragged of his “deal making” prowess, and how he will work with the democrats, they remain convinced he will do all the things he sold them early in the campaign, even as he waffles on many of them.

Contrary to what many Trumpers believe, yes, the US does need some foreign highly skilled employees to fill positions in high tech companies. And Cruz has clearly stated that it is already against the law to fire employees for the purpose of bringing in foreign workers. The law just needs to be enforced, just as the laws need to be enforced at the border.

Even in this thread, people are shocked and offended that Cruz may be looking and preparing towards 2020, just in case. What did they expect he would do? How do we even know Trump actually wants to spend the last eight good years of his life in the White House?

As to the convention, Cruz will give a great speech that both supports Trump and rallies conservatives to the cause of keeping Hellary the heck away from the White House.

I want you to think long, and hard on what you posted.

This country was built by independent men. I am sovereign. I am a Marine. You are naive.

I do not live in luxury, I live in homestead, in the country. I have well water, and a stream.

I take care of, and have the care of my family, and friends...I suggest you might consider that when TSHTF....

Thank God the Founding Fathers had my mindset...now the central government has taken that away...from YOU. Not me. I am sovereign.

You're a jerk; grow up!

Just because you hang out on other sites most of the time ( no wonder I don't recognize your nic, even though you have an early sign-up date ) and get shut down because obviously you don't know how to beat the morons there, don't push those flies off on me!

My posts are plainly written and easy to comprehend for those with more than 3 working brain cells! I am the antithesis of PC; which I abhor, loathe, and abominate. It's hardly my fault/problem that you are incapable of understanding simple facts.

Yes, I am better than YOU shall ever be; however, FR has ALWAYS been as it is now ( except in the beginning there were far fewer idiotic, uneducated, political naifs posting than there are now )during primary and election season.

Cruz lost....get over it and he wasn't qualified anyway!

The owner has decreed that this is a TRUMP supporting site. If you don't like it, go back to fighting with the moronic SOCIAL JUSTICE poster you are incapable of besting. LOL

Next, you'll try to explain why the polls are so close when you swore up and down that Trump could NEVER overcome the 15 point deficit to Hillary last February and March. Because you're so smart.......

It's very unlike me to "swear up and down" about predictions. I assume you have my remarks handy if you haven't just made it up.

“He could wind up VP...”

He was born in a foreign country to a foreign father, but he’s a natural born U.S. citizen, per our Constitution, right?

Yeah, I think the Framers would be ok with that. /s

“...why is he giving a “globalist” the prime speaking spot at the Republican National Convention?”

It’s not Trump’s choice to make. It’s in the rules (40b).

Okay, let's just deal with the insult portion.

If you agree that insulting Ted Cruz or Ted Cruz supporters hurts Trump's electoral chances, will you join me in advocating a zot for all those who do so because they are working against the election of Donald Trump?

Are we always going to be driving down one-way streets?

” Frankly, Cruz earned those insults, the last months of his campaign, he showed just how far from a conservative he is, yet you keep pretending he’s one.

Go ahead, explain:

1. His petulant blaming of Trump for the violence in Chicago, rather than the protesters paid agitators. (Heck, if the campaign was still on, taking that premise, he might be blaming Trump for the dead Dallas police)
2. Running as the squeaky clean Christian candidate, he had a deceitful, lying (Ben Carson in Iowa, yes, Ben saw it then, we all should have seen it) snakish campaign staff who acted worse than most of the GOPe candidates we complain about.
3. He brought in the Bush family, and all the GOPe apparatus and funding, partnering with them to take Trump out. Did he think they were actually going to nominate him? Did he think the base would actually not see what he was doing? Treacherous, AND stupid in the worst of ways.
4. The alliance with Kasich at the end, and the dissolution of it and then the pretense it never existed after he found out how disgusted the primary voters were with it. The boy lies through his teeth and desperately thought he could get away with that kind of thing.
5. The despicable way he has allowed the non unification of the party. He and Romney together, along with Paul Ryan and the rest of the #nevertrumpers, aiding and abetting Hillary for all this time.”

Unh, uhh. These are just your delusions.

1. No, Cruz did NOT blame Trump for the violence in Chicago.
2. They did pass on the CNN report to their people at the caucus, which I would have also done. I want an aggressive candidate, especially in the general election. BTW, Trump bold face lied on TV in Iowa, saying that Cruz was “totally against ethanol”, which he is not. How is that any different?
3. Wasn’t his job in the primary to “take Trump out”?
4. Wasn’t much of an alliance, was it?
5. Wow, so the whole “non-unification” of the party is because of Cruz! It’s all his fault.

Just almost pathological.

You need far more help that you realize!

Please remove the blindfold, blinkers, and ear plugs!

Cruz still has you bedazzled, befuddled, and fooled beyond reason! And attempting to somehow keep Trump from being the nominee and/or planning to run in 2020, when he wasn't even legally allowed to run this time, is absurd and delusional on your part!

Trashing Trump is NOT allowed here, per JR and besides which, you're just spouting garbage about him anyway. So he donated to Dems in the past and may even have said sort of "nice things about them. ROTFLMSO...it was all part of doing business; especially in NYC and in other blue states and cities! You imagine that BAKSHEESH only exists in some backwards foreign countries ?
