Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."

The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen — this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

I’ve seen clips of albino moose before, but not a male. The clips I’ve seen have been a female, in Alaska, so maybe one day, they will meet up. Who knows? They are certainly beautiful.

Hand wash, hang dry. Of course, we may be doing that with everything, or spending days at the Friendly Christian Laundromat, if I don’t get cracking on getting a new washer.
Yesterday it did two loads successfully and errored out on the third. For now, if I reset it and run a rinse-and-spin, it will finish up, but that won’t last forever.
I keep forgetting that you do more loads of laundry in a day than I do in a month, so I’ll promise to stop complaining about the laundry. And wonder of wonders, all the machines were up yesterday, so Monday looks really good for three loads!
And now, for the steroid to start my day.
I do an average of five loads in 24 hours, myself, and that doesn’t count what Bill and Tom wash. I gave Tom some money on Tuesday, and he went to the laundromat. I’ve had one successful load today; maybe I’ll get another!
The dryer is turning off randomly, but at least it turns back on. Probably time to have the vent cleared; I should call the ducting company.
I’m dressed in my new cashmere blouse (with only two tiny holes ;-) from The Salvation Army.
One of the washers was out of commission for three weeks, and the first week it was down, I wrote a note to the office. When the second one went down, I wrote a second note to the office, and asked how long we had to be held hostage by machines. Two machines for 100 people isn’t quite enough.
So far, the dryers haven’t gone on the fritz.

I hate when the seasons do that. Last year, we had what passes for fall, here in the desert, but this year, we weren’t do lucky!

The current wash load included a storm trooper helmet, a tiny fighter jet, and a 2” green rattlesnake.
Some days, I wish I had some Legos to step on. I can’t remember how old my kids were when Legos first came out, but the kids were very diligent about picking them all up.
Today was the first day for two weeks we’ve been above freezing.
Not just above, oh no, well above. 18C.

It’s nice to be able to cross items off the list of things to pack. But I’m still apprehensive about forgetting something important.
The wind wasn’t blowing today, and for that, the peeps are grateful. We have decided to go visit Chuck tomorrow, and try to ease some of his fears about his recovery. He’s afraid he won’t be able to take care of himself, but I will research Medicare and have some facts to give him tomorrow.
In other news, I am so happy with my haircut, this time! It is curling like it knew how! YAY! So I will keep it at this length from now on, and just get trims.

I’ve taken the byos to the library, cleared some contraband electronic items from the girls’ room, and scrubbed Santana. Now I think I’ll go lie down. My next commitment is choir practice at 6:30.
This is probably the best haircut I’ve had since I used to cut it myself. :o])
I’m going to work on my personal history. Maybe I’ll get another two or three pages done before I have to quit from exhaustion. No one told me it was going to be so hard to write about the events of a lifetime.

Thirty minutes was about all the reminiscing I could tolerate for one day. Now, I think, I will check a few sites and then head in to lie down with a good book or two.
With any luck tomorrow, I’ll be able to finally pack up the plates, then vacuum and mop.
Walgreen’s sent me a notice that my steroid was due for a refill, so tomorrow I’ll reply to the email. Or maybe Saturday. No later, as I don’t have enough to last for too many more days after today.
I’m thinking it’s colder this year...and wondering once more when I’ll be warm. :o|
Speaking of forgetting something ...
My wife texted me before I got to work to ask why my suit coat and tie were still hanging on the hook by the door.
I told her it wasn’t really a ‘why’ question.
I had to quit cutting my own hair. Keeping the lawnmower blades that sharp was getting to be too hard for me.
Hahaha!
I had to quit cutting my own hair because arthritis in my elbows and shoulders, as well as chronic bursitis in all those joints, prevents me from keeping my arms up that long.
But that’s OK — at my age, I’ve earned the right to have someone else do it for me!
