Well, if you’re using IE then yes, dump that immediately. I don’t think MS is supporting anything other than Edge.

I have to say there’s no way the Dell hardware is giving you as much trouble as you say you’re having. The worst hardware in the world won’t do what happens to you. It’s software somewhere. Either IE (which is really a virus masquerading as a Web Browser) or extensions or something is causing the problem.

I’m working from home today as I have to speak at a PMI Symposium later on.

My grandfather and my mother were both alcoholics, so I don’t drink except occasionally a glass of wine for a toast. I’m also not sure drinking to relax is what God intended for us, although I don’t go so far as to say Christians shouldn’t drink. After all, Jesus did turn water into wine and He wouldn’t tempt people to sin.

All that to say my head won’t ache. My feet might.

I just downloaded it and will spend a couple of hours trying to navigate with it, and see how I do. My brain is functioning fairly well today (except for speling) so I thought I might as well try it.

I mean, what can I lose?

IE isn’t on this thing. Edge is. I want to delete it and just use Firefox. I guess I’d better get into Settings, because it wants to default to Edge. GAH!

I’ve looked at your problem from a logical perspective.
The PC is useful for operating the Printer/scanner, etc, storage and retrieval /archiving jobs.
But it is a pain in the Posterior with regards to Windows meddling.

So , a proposal to a solution.
Three years ago Both of My laptops where unplugged from the Net, restored to factory settings with all software reinstalled. They still work like new due to no updates.
All of my Web browsing is now done on an iPug.

Have just had a Google for the existence of Refurbished iPugs, they exist, £100 or so.
All of the software, or equivalent, you need is available on the I-store.
Transferring pictures, etc, to/from I-pug to PC can be done via USB stick.
This combination has brought my stress levels down due to having no interference from Windows update.
Plus your ‘PC’ is now mobile, if you get a SIM for the I-Pug.

Just a thought.

When you first launchededed Firefox it should have asked you if you wanted it to be your default browser.

No, not really, but he has the same offended expression when you interrupt his computer game.

I’d much rather think about Hogwarts than about computers.

Isn't that the Slovakian wizarding academy?

Best to be cautious with it then.
I've always thought that if God didn't intend for us to be able to do something, we wouldn't be able to do it. It's just up to us to be sensible with the facilities HE gave us.
After all, "Jesus did turn water into wine"... HE Lead by example, a drink not a binge : "He wouldn’t tempt people to sin."
Just my take on it. :)

Yes, it did. And I’ve decided I want Firefox, but I have to figure out how to get my Favorites File imported. It tells me, but only for documents, not the favorites I use to get around during the surfing times.

I’ll figure it out. I will. Yes. Yes, I will. After I have some coffee...

I believe it was.

I believe instead of robes, the wizarding students wear tracksuits and wave wands while incanting "recumbo!"
