Since OpenOffice is all I’ve ever used (I learned DOS and WordPerfect 5.0, plus Lotus 1.2.3 years ago, but that was when my brain worked) so I will see about Linux. And then there’s Firefox. Maybe I’ll check that one out first. Just research it and maybe take it for a test drive.
At any rate, I’m so fed up with MS it’s not funny.
I like firefox, I don’t like typing on a phone.
Well, if you’re using IE then yes, dump that immediately. I don’t think MS is supporting anything other than Edge.
I have to say there’s no way the Dell hardware is giving you as much trouble as you say you’re having. The worst hardware in the world won’t do what happens to you. It’s software somewhere. Either IE (which is really a virus masquerading as a Web Browser) or extensions or something is causing the problem.
For what it's worth I have Linux Mint on my old laptop and a 'test' box that was once a WinXP-until-end-of-support box. Firefox is the default browser and Thunderbird is the default email program in Mint. Mint itself is a fork of the Ubuntu stuff. I like Mint's default desktop better than the Unity thing that Ubuntu uses even though both desktops are forks of the Gnome desktop..
(I know, Greek.. ;-)
