A 16-year Columbia Fire Department captain was fired Monday from his $53,722-a-year job for making threatening remarks against people in a Black Lives Matter protest that on Sunday night closed down a major interstate corridor into Columbia, city officials said Monday.

And the fallout continues. Two other FF and one EMS were canned today for FB posts.
Basically in response to the Interstate shut downs by the protesters, saying “don’t be in my way or else”.

Who has responsibility for EMS and Fire services in the event the roadways are closed by protesters?
Is the city council/mayor going to accept responsibility and the object of lawsuits?

OK, well, he said he’d run them over. I’d like to change my previous post to say people should be careful what they post on FB or Twitter. Better yet, don’t ever use them if possible.

That’s true. Closing a road can kill someone or cause grave harm. Would it be justified to run a hole through the protesters if a critically ill patient is being transported?

Though I agree with his sentiment, posting on FB exhibits extremely poor judgement for someone in his position of leadership.
