I don’t see much of a crackdown. Someone charged with murder or attempted murder doesn’t care if they are also charged with a “hate crime” or a crime against a police officer. It’s all symbolic and will have no real effect for as long as the racist communist is in our White House.
I like the idea of assault with bodily injury to a public servant going from misdemeanor to felony, but they already had that by charging appropriately. Mostly, this is just sending “a resolute message”. In other words, nonsense.

This is public masterbation. A huge circle jerk. And the biggest jerk is the headline writer. How is this going after BLM?
What they should do is go after BLM. Sue them. Charge them with conspiracy. Investigate them. Campaign against them. Shut them down. Kick them out of the state. Throw the leaders in jail. Sue their financial backers. Seize property from their financial backers. Start a State of Texas list of terrorist organizations (if there isn’t one now) and put BLM at the top of the list.
