Where are the Cruz Supporters on FR?
http://www.no_source.com ^ | 7/21/2016 | Me No Source

FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.

I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.

As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.

//Did you really believe that a proud, Texan male could endorse a guy who called him Lyin’ Ted and attacked his family//

And last night Cruz proved Trump right on that. Don’t forget Cruz attacked Trumps family too.

I do think you are correct, Trump gave him enough rope to hang himself and hang himself he did.

I wanted to sleep on what I saw last night and dissipate some of the rage I felt for ly’n ted.
First, on a high note, let us observe that Donald knew he was going to be sandbagged , Instead of crushing the second place finisher ( way back behind Trump) he reached out to unify the party. Even though cruz had used suggestive modeling picture of Melania taken in legitimate photo shoots as somehow implying that she was not a good person and even though cruz lied to the Carson delegates in Iowa that “Carson has dropped out”, even though he had given his signed pledge and made videoed statements in front of the voters repeatedly that he would endorse the nominee of the party- Even though he lied about campaign loans from his wife’s wall street employer, Goldman Sacks - Trump did a magnanimous thing and let cruz have his moment before the New Republican party . He did that for party unity,
But cruz is not about unity. He is about himself. This despicable and disgusting weezle tried and failed to hijack the convention for himself. He ended his political career 20 minutes later. He will be defeated in the next primary by none other than Rick Perry for Senator from Texas.

I'm still for him because only Mike Lee has a more conservative voting record.

You are extremely naive if you think that voting records aren't gamed. I've seen senators lobby heavily for a bill and then vote against it once there enough votes for it pass without his vote.

I was a Cruz supporter until I heard Trump taking about the middle class that is being destroyed by the Globalists and was going to actually do something about it. Cruz is so brilliant that his entire pedigree is that of a D.C. Insider, but he positioned himself as one outside the system!

Trump said horrible things about Ted’s wife and was over the top with his dad and the JFK thing.

Trump warned everyone many times that if someone "hit" him unjustly, he would hit back harder. Ted Cruz's manager Jeff Roe started the fight by going to the expense of purchasing rights to the nude photo of Melania and he hit first in the name of the Cruz campaign by slathering that photo all over the Utah primary in a salacious way. This is after he had pulled the stunts on Carson in Iowa.

So Trump, seeing what kind of a man he was dealing with and being a man of his word, hit back harder with the retweets about Heidi and Rafael, but all's fair in love and war.

So glad he did, since we now see the comparison between how Walker, Carson, and Rubio handled defeat gracefully and how Cruz has instead acted like a vain 12-year-old running a vicious Facebook campaign against her former boyfriend's new girlfriend.

This is the exact scenario Cruz has played for Corker/Iran and TPA/TPP.

Ladies and Gentlemen . . .

This is so far off-topic. Let it lie. See if DJT has anything to say (I doubt it) and follow his lead.

Meanwhile. Move on to Hillary.

“Apparently deliberately picking at scabs and unseemly gloating are more intoxicating and addictive on FR than moving on and seeking peace and unity for the country.”

Indeed.

Cruz can only redeem himself if Trump has a disastrous presidency. It won't happen.

Well just to be clear, my comment wasn’t aimed at you. I just find it amazing that of all the people complaining about the label, Lyin Ted, not one of them knows its origin. Apparently Cruz supporters think Trump made it up out of thin air, merely to slime their candidate. In fact, Cruz ran an approved ad that claimed Trump made his fortune from using eminent domain. That’s right—however many billions Trump has, he made every dollar from kicking old widows out into the street.

It would have been such a good ad...if it weren’t a one-hundred percent lie.

In the large scheme of things, no. There aren’t enough them to make a difference one way or the other. They won’t even move Texas out of Trump’s column.

Cruz is a proud Texan male

Cruz lives in Texas, that does not make him a Texan.

I am a Texas woman married to a Texas MAN. Texas MEN do not make pledges that any circumstance would cause them not to keep. Texas MEN would also consider their OWN behavior rather than making excuses.

Donald Trump would not automatically make that pledge because he wanted to think about it enough to know he could keep his word. He didn’t make it for “show time”.

I’d say Donald Trump the New Yorker shows the qualities of a TEXAN MAN more than Cruz ever will.

Good point. Those that think that voting records mean anything are being horribly misled.
