Where are the Cruz Supporters on FR?

FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.

I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.

As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.

“There is such thing as gracious winning...”

Have you heard the phrase, “gracious losing”?

Reagan did not endorse Ford in 76.

I saw a u-tube video of Reagan endorsing Ford. Your info is wrong.

“I don’t think Cruz owes the party anything, or Trump for that matter.”

Cruz “owes the party” the endorsement he pledged he would give. By not keeping his word, he’s living up to his moniker, “Lyin’ Ted”.

True and excellent. This link, to a TV appearance by a Cruz campaign surrogate March 8th, is often ignored and is very pertinent to your discussion. The segment aired a week before the Facebook Melania pictures posted by the PAC and before the fliers handed out at Cruz campaign offices.

On March 8, 2016, a Ted Cruz surrogate appeared on the Neil Cavuto Show on the Fox News Channel and took a verbal swing at Melania Trump, wife of Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump. This was the first blow. If anyone knows of anything earlier, please speak up. “If she becomes the first lady,” the television guest told Cavuto’s audience, “she will be the first one to have posed in the nude, the first one to have been her husband’s third wife and the first one to have been born outside of the United States in 100 years.”

What’s stunning is that we were all saved from Cruz here by Cruz himself.

You can’t do this without a thick skin. Cruz brought the wives into it, and when he got his ass handed to him, he’s had a tough time living it down.

One thing about working sources is knowing what buttons to push. Cruz’s button is four feet by four feet, labeled, lighted, and with raised dots so that the blind can press it.

He’s proven himself dangerous in any office higher than Senator.

You have a very strange way of judging a conservative. Time you did some research and quit playing the pity poor Cruz game. He got what he deserved.

Reagan did not endorse Ford in 76.

You should not get your news from Mark Levin - he is not reliable and will make you look silly in front of your friends

The girls will probably keep copies of that picture and look fondly at it in 20 years when Mom and Dad are in a Retirement Community rubber room. In Canada.

You left out an important “even though”. ...even though Cruz strongly implied Trump is/was involved in the KKK.

“Michael Berry is saying today, as he makes excuses for Cruz, that Trump can’t win without Cruz voters. I don’t think there are that many left.”
I saw maybe two, three dozen of his supporters at that Cruz rally where Trump’s plane flew overhead. All were booing the party nominee, of course.

Like their idol Cruz, his supporters overestimate their own importance.

Wanna know why so many of us lost all patience with Cruz supporters here on FR?
First, the stupid variations on Trump’s name they liked to use against us in a pejorative way, like liberals losing arguments, and secondly, the self-righteous, “We are the appointed/annointed true conservatives. While you are not.” holier-than-thou attitude. You see it on this thread.

Cruz plainly showed his true colors last night in failing to fulfill his oath to endorse the party nominee and by urging Republicans, “Vote your conscience.”

As far as I’m concerned, any remaining bunker-dwelling Cruzers hanging-on in a sub rosa way here at FR can ... finally ... set aside your butthurt and get on board the “Beat Hillary” train and (to use the expression I don’t particularly care for) in a `full throated’ manner, or don’t let the door hit you in butt.

and don’t forget Cruz said he supported Audit the Fed, but conveniently was not there for the vote.

Neither Cruz nor his campaign posted those nude photos of Trump’s wife.

An anti-Trump PAC published that ad with Trump’s wife. Nobody affiliated with Cruz was responsible for it.

Promote the truth, my FRiend. The truth is sufficient.

Yeah Ted tells the story how his old man fled oppression in Cuba with $100 sewed in his pants, but conveniently leaves out he fled as a Castro supporter.

That little fact kind of changes the narrative.

“Apparently ...”

You saw it on Twitter?

What do you mean “apparently”? You’re promoting as “truth” something that you might have heard somewhere?

Please, for the love of God, don’t abandon truth.

“Can anyone tell me why he kept bringing up the cop’s daughter?”

Pandering. Trying to appeal to listeners’ emotions. Sickening. Others could do it and it might work; he just came across as smarmy and insincere.

First, and rare, reasonable reply. First logical reply. Rare responsible act by FReeper on this subject...Thank you!

I supported Cruz despite some concerns, now I'll support Trump in like manner.

I will, however, no longer contribute to the rabid "we chased 'm off", "they want to elect Hillary", "When/if Trump loses, it'll be the fault of Cruz supporters". The continuing gnawing on bones left on the field after what was the nastiest spate of uncivilized schoolyard crap I've ever seen among erstwhile colleagues.

If church issues and the civil war were not sufficient, this nomination cycle has surely been enough to drive out reasonable discussion.

I stated that globalism is the biggest threat to the country and that nothing else was even close. Without the stop of globalism, there won’t be a country left.

I totally agree with you. I support Trump for a number of reasons, but mainly because he took on the Uniparty’s ideology of globalism. Globalism is where the constitutional Republic dies.
