Note to self: do not pet lions.
A Michigan woman lost her middle finger to a caged lion after trying to pet the wild cat at a zoo last Saturday now she might claw for some cash.
Renae Ferguson says she learned the hard way that getting close to the ferocious carnivore isn't the brightest idea, but insists she's not to blame.
The woman plans to sue Sunrise Side Nature Trail and Exotic Park near East Tawas in Mid-Michigan for alleged negligence, reported WNEM.
"I would like to see more precautions taken to protect the people as well as the animals," Ferguson told the local station.

LOL
Looks like Crazy Horse.
Do let us know. Granted, the woman was stupid to pet the cat; but she shouldn’t have been able to get that close, unless she willfully evaded barriers that WERE there.

Yikes! The lion is not guilty.
Did you happen to see the link to the newspaper report - the comments are interesting, too.

Don’t feed the animals. Yes, even your fingers are against the rule. Throw her butt out the door before she feeds a lion her foot or something.
I hope that eating her finger did’t make the poor lion sick.
Yep, that's the guy. Old Iron Eyes Cody was actually born Espera Oscar de Corti. He was a Sicilian-American actor who pretended to be an American Indian in Hollywood films.
I hope the judge laughs her out of court.
She just wanted to become part of the circle of life!
Somebody with fewer brains would have sued, only to have it thrown out of court.
She went through a closed gate and then reached into the enclosure; the zoo’s mistake is someone forgot to put the padlock back on the gate to prevent morons from opening it and walking in.
If there is a lawsuit, I hope the zoo recovers every penny of their legal fees from the woman.
