I think it means that programming centered on faggots and racial minorities doesn't sell.
“CBS probably couldnt find enough black transexuals”
I can think of one who will be looking for work after January.
They want people to watch, it is as simple as that.
Several years ago, I asked my boss to explain our company's diversity policy one day. The main reason I did, was that she was trying to explain the policy as not meaning race/sex/religion, etc.. but diversity of background, experience, and education.
In the most subtle way I could (sledgehammer diplomacy), I asked how they tracked that particular commitment to diversity. She had no answer. So then, I asked her if they couldn't track it with the ideology they had in mind for the program, how the company did actually track it. Yup. Race/sex/religion/persuasion. So, I asked how making the diversity quota led to helping the bottom line if the best actual candidates for the job were bypassed to make the arbitrary quota.
Typical liberal. Had no answer, but that the company was doing great with respect to diversity.
There's a reason I don't work there anymore.
They should have filters you can put on each show before you watch it. A “Hispanic color filter”, “Black color filter”, “Asian color filter”, Native American color ...
Happy? Probably not.
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner, folks!
So glad I don’t watch any of these stupid shows.
The only network programs I watch are “Jeopardy” and the Baltimore local news.
I just checked the top 10 shows for last week. Only 2 are filmed entertainment. The rest are reality shows or the Olympics. They are NCIS and Big Bang Theory. Both CBS btw. Do those count as diverse but having white male leads?
Gang bangers and welfare mommas don’t buy new cars or stainless steel appliances. They also don’t hire the services of building contractors and maintenance services. Working white people do.
Although, it’s really “heterosexual” white males who are the accusation target.
If you have “homosexual” white males, then that would be ok. Since we celebrate homosexuality nowadays, you can be white and homosexual and still be diverse. And keep the liberals off your back.
Maybe there’s a lot of heterosexual white female viewers who want to look at handsome white heterosexual leading men?
I noticed while watching American Idol, despite their obvious pushing of “diverse” contestants, a nice-looking, white, heterosexual male usually won. Show business is about ratings and making money.
that the leads of your shows in the fall are all heterosexual white men?
The question is: Will these heterosexual white men be honest, thoughtful, mature, many?
Or will they follow the usual liberal hollyweird standard that all heterosexual white males as buffoons, racists, misogynist, abusers, cowards and immature little boys.
Good one!!
Funny. . . .and true.
CBS hoisted on their own retard.
They need to start examining pro basketball.
Love it when the left goes at the left.
As does the homosexual community...
“Our fall line-up is a reflection of what America wants. CBS has been the #1 network in prime time for more than a decade, and it's because we offer programs that viewers find more entertaining than those aired on rival networks.
This is a business. We're here to attract the largest possible audience that we can deliver to our advertisers, who are willing to pay higher rates to sponsor our programs. That adds to our corporate bottom line, increasing shareholder value. And much of our stock is owned by middle class Americans of all ethnic backgrounds, through their pension plans and mutual funds.
Our success at CBS also keeps thousands of employees on the job, and the same holds true at the production companies that supply programming to the network. Both CBS and our production partners employ large, diverse workforces at all levels of their respective organizations. Those workers directly benefit from the programming decisions made at this network.
Besides, the idea of some sort of quota system for series casting is ridiculous. The standard should be skill, talent and merit, not the color of someone’s skin, their gender, or their sexual preference. And if you haven't noticed, a lot of minorities are doing very well on network TV.
Now, why don't you sit down and shut your piehole? I've got an entertainment division to run, and my performance will be evaluated on ratings and revenue, not some arbitrary diversity metric created by someone who was lucky to make it through journalism school and would kill to be sitting where I am right now.”
Of course, an honest answer like that would get Geller fired, so instead, he has to mutter the usual PC crap. Gotta protect that seven-figure annual pay/benefits package and besides, I'm sure he believes all that garbage.
