Full title: Wasted: Horrifying photos of parents passed out by school bus after overdosing in their car with four-year-old boy in the backseat reveal the terrible toll of the opioid epidemic sweeping America
A police department in Ohio has shared on Facebook disturbing photos of a man and woman passed out in a car with a toddler in the backseat after the pair had allegedly overdosed on heroin.
The unsettling images appeared on the City of East Liverpool's social media page on Thursday.
Officials say they decided to make the photos public to raise awareness of the heroin epidemic in the state, and also to try and deter people from using drugs while having children in their care.
Addiction to opioids such as heroin, morphine, fentanyl and codeine in the US has reached the proportions of a full-blown epidemic in recent years.
In Ohio, which has been among the states hardest hit by the overdose epidemic, there were 3,000 unintentional drug overdoses last year, at an average of eight per day.

You can never stop people who are self destructive. The best solution-IMO- is for communities to take all confiscated drugs to a secure location and make them ALL available to any druggies who want them. ALL they want. They will OD. The only stipulation is that once they take the drugs they cannot leave the facility. Keep them off the streets. Remove bodies as they pile up. Repeat until community is junkie-free. They will be happy with free drugs, society will be happy without druggies. No one’s ‘rights’ to self destruct have been violated. Win-win.
I have no respect or tolerance for drug addicts and alcoholics. It’s all so stupid. I’m not perfect...I have my own obsessive and compulsive tendencies, but I’m happy substance abuse is not one of them.
Just another victimless crime brought about by natural items created by Jesus himself for man’s enjoyment. Obviously, the war on drugs is the real problem here. I hope that kid thanked his parents for their noble and courageous efforts in advocating for the freedom of man to make his own choices and for helping to usher in a new period of liberty and enlightenment through the abuse of recreational narcotics.
Thank God that these parents exercised their right to expand their minds through chemical neural alteration instead of.... Learning a hobby or something. There, America, are the thinking, open heroes that you seek.
But - do we in the US have the intestinal fortitude?
Not many have woke up to the current Heroin problem, If people would realize where it all comes from, read the middle east its pretty obvious its the new war with drugs instead of our old war on drugs... It’s part of what has been directly funding ISIS because of Obama’s open border policy, they use smugglers that are used to getting bundles of weed over the border, now that demand has dropped because of legalized grown in the USA stuff and these smaller packages of pure heroin are simple to smuggle. They bypassed the big cities for the most part this time and went straight for small town America.
Seems like almost daily I am hearing of a friends relative or somebody my kids know in a small town somewhere that is in rehab for Heroin and that is the good case, so many others already lost them to overdose or just plain worthless junkie thieves now, that they are forced to use tough love on because they just become enablers otherwise.
A few months after my sons started at a new diesel truck repair shop, last year, a coworker with a wife and 2 young babies OD’d in the bathroom and died.
The sad thing is so many got started with legal prescribed drugs, then either switched to Heroin because it was cheaper or because their dr. stopped giving them refills... and they were already hopelessly hooked.

I work in a public building, and I myself came across a woman passed out from heroin, needle still next to her hand. I’d never seen that before. It was rather shocking. The paramedics revived her.
But....he had his seatbelt on!!!!

They were just enjoying their heroin apertif.
Better get some sympathy. Many people have empathy for the addict. They don’t want to be a druggie. Almost nobody does.
That was a weird movie. Quite disturbing really.

Here you go. Addiction has no boundaries. Take three minutes and listen to CNN reporter and son of a well known journalist tell a bit of his story. I have heard his full story in person. The guy had it all and knew better. This guy could be your brother, son, neighbor, or pastor.

Drugs a are victimless crime dont’cha know?
We should make use of our federal system and allow states to try different strategies to see what works best. In the meantime, secure the border. Heroin is easily smuggled into the US, mainly from Mexico.
As a police officer who worked years neck deep in the WOD, I can tell you that it is an abject failure.
However, solution 1 would be instant race war.
We think alike. I would give them all the dope they can do, after they sign a waiver.
I would have a crematorium on site as well.
I am curious of your insight as to why. I thought drug use and dealing pretty much crossed racial lines.
