Mark McConnell, the driver of the Jeep that Ammon Bundy was riding in before this arrest on Jan. 26, was a government informant who had tipped off law enforcement about the occupation leaders' trip out of the wildlife refuge, according to court testimony Wednesday.....
Oregon State Trooper Jeremiah Beckert said that McConnell provided information about the occupiers vehicles, their location and a basic threat assessment, leading to the high-risk traffic stop on U.S. 395 about 4 p.m. that same day.....
The government limited Beckert's testimony to the arrests, with little discussion of Finicum's fatal shooting.....
Before the trooper took the witness stand, U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown repeatedly warned the defendants and their lawyers that the circumstances surrounding Finicum's death were "off limits". Brown went so far as telling Ryan Bundy that he was forbidden from raising the subject before jurors, and that she would have him removed from the courtroom if he didn't follow her order.
Yet that didn't stop some on the defense side from attempting to raise the matter.
The trooper testified that the occupants of the Jeep--Ammon Bundy, McConnell and Brian Cavalier--complied with orders to step out of the vehicle and walk backward to waiting officers. The only one armed in the Jeep was McConnell, who had a handgun.....
"I saw a white male with a cowboy hat laying on his back," Beckert testified, estimating that the man's body was about 30 yards south of the truck....
During cross-examination, Ammon Bundy's lawyer Marcus Mumford established again that Beckert learned that Finicum has been killed by law enforcement.
Mumford followed up, "In fact, he was shot three times in the back...." The prosecutor objected, and the judge immediately asked the jurors to disregard Mumford's question.........

You are correct, I am a veteran, thank God of no war. I come from a long line, not of professional soldiers but ordinary men who have heeded our Nation’s call. In every conflict since 1776 the muster roles have included the name I share, none ever above the rank Pvt. One lies forever eighteen in the soil of Pennsylvania at Gettysburg. So I take my duty to “pay attention” pretty carefully that I see to it their sacrifice continues to pay dividends. America will someday fall, I am sure, as all things do. Not on my watch.

Whatever McConnell’s other faults may or may not be, he did his job, if you can call it that, defending America against armed sedition and insurrection. I really don’t care for the details in all of this, am humored and disgusted by the folks that hype and defend sedition and insurrection when it serves their purposes, yet object when it doesn’t. Rioters and looters are no different than these folks. Jail ‘em all.
It still appears to be a “representative republic”, but it is not. The last eight years, particularly the last two has convinced me without any doubt...we've lost our gubbamint.
Corruption has permeated throughout. Our gubbamint is slowly but surely tightening the noose around American citizens.

This serves as a reminder that “cold volunteers” to organizations are often either mentally unbalanced, informants, or both.
And if the agency trying to infiltrate is unsuccessful with the direct method, they are utterly ruthless in trying to coerce members of the group and their families to become informants.
The best way around this threat is to identify and isolate suspected informants, keeping them “out of the loop” and also extensively monitoring and recording their actions and behavior, without them knowing it. Especially ensure that if *they* break any laws, that not only are precise records kept of that, but that other members there create date/time “memorandums for record” after, without comparing notes, detailing what they observed.
Any member, or their family, who get any form of coercion should use a “duress password” an unusual word that can be fit in an ordinary sentence, that lets the organization know they have been compromised, so that from that point on they must be isolated from sensitive information as well.
Importantly, government wiretaps and surveillance devices are protected by a peculiar law. It is unlawful to tamper with them, directly prevent them from operation, or even to notify others as to their existence. Another duress password to notify others.
I see one commenter here who was outraged about the police action in the Tulsa shooting, so at least he/she is consistent.
I wonder where all of those other commenters are about this? I guess they only care when it’s black men getting shot to death. Or maybe when local cops do it as opposed to the “I was only following orders” Feds.

Every attempt the people in the truck made to comply was met with bullets/shots fired by the “authorities.”
The authorities opened fire on them, the proof is in Ryan Bundy’s shoulder still. Shawna Cox did everything she could think of to keep them all alive. I ask, if you were being shot at would you exit a vehicle? The federal government employees escalated this situation on purpose. It is political persecution.
These patriots are being held in jail for over 7 months with no bond granted, yet the terrorist that just set off bombs was granted bail. Obama is doing his best to take America down, encouraging black lies matter to protest/riot but doing everything in his power to stop men who were teaching the Constitution, none of this is coincidence or accidental.
I really don’t care. And maybe it should be a bit sobering to you that this is the best country. Maybe do a little less sedition and insurrection and maybe a bit more constructive support.
