I tend to agree that Trump could have prepared more and performed better. But with respect to who won, your perception is just your perception. Have you ever watched a movie, attended a live music concert, or read a book that you didn’t like yet others raved about it? The point is, some people may see this differently than you do. You don’t have to accuse anyone of not being honest.

I understand your sincere concerns about the quality of Trump’s performance. Many FReepers have commented about that on various threads this evening. But I wouldn’t be so certain and judgemental about how others should see it or question their honesty. Just my 2 cents.

People don’t bother when there is no enthusiasm but most of the of poles I’ve seen are on conservative leaning web site.

This is a nail biter. Bammy done enough to ignore our Constitution whose one goal is to protect us from the ruling elite. Shillary is in his camp. The ruling elite want us crushed and our money.

Cruz is an insider, and that did NOT motivate our side.

Trump is THE outsider, and has created tens of thousands of jobs. He is the guy to get the economy rolling, because he signs the front of checks. Cruz, like Clinton, only has signed the back. Sure, he is a better debater - but that isn’t what this election is about.

Your analysis is correct. He got in a few good shots in the first half, but she won.

But he didn’t act like a bomb thrower, so as the challenger against a status quo candidate in a year in which people are looking for change, he didn’t lose. That is all he had to do.

We’ll see. The expectation of low info voters who watched Hillary ads was that Trump is crazy and would go unhinged. He probably won some of them over.

Hillary did what she always does. Gave scripted answers showing no emotion. No gains or losses for her.

I can see Trump moving closer to 50% and Hillary staying exactly where she is.

From an "academic" POV that the mainstream media projects, Trump was a little off last night and yes under-prepared. Of course he was debating two hostile opponents, but again should of expected that. Steer the subject in the direction to destroy your opponent, subtly tell audience that the moderator is weak (Not biased, becomes "he said, she said"), defuse the opponents argument BEFORE they even get to respond (Aquinas method/Aristotelian argument), and cut out juvenile personnel attacks (Trump did a good job biting his tongue) that does not affect other potential citizens.

At times Trump put the chick on the defensive, but was not quite detailed enough in destroying her talking points. Trump can't solely rely on "she is a career politician"/ 30 or 26 years of ignoring the problems. Part of the problem is the debate rules and format due to being "made for tv."
