Have watched a few of season 2 episode, though AMC makes it hard as they would not leave up the old episodes in any kind f a predictable sequence, hence I missed a few of the first 7 in season 2.

That said here are the defects of season 2 part 1-7:

1)The portion they were on the boat was turning into a “lost in space” kind of show. Each episode was a neat package, yes there was something unresolved but it was kind formulaic.

2) The characters had no larger sense of nobility, a hold over from season 1, so it was hard to pull for them. They were perfectly willing to cause the death of many innocents in season one to give them a chance to get into the military base...frankly after that stunt, they were essentially not folks one could care about.

3) They had to make the Black guy gay. Every show has to have a strong gay character. Kind of sick of it, once again a modern formula.

4) Had it been me the Hispanic son would have had an ass licking, followed by druggy followed by the daughter if she still acted like a valley girl. The fact the step father did not deal with his responsibilities in a real way just made the mess the kids got the group into kind of inevitable.

5) complete disregard for hygiene. They know this virus is transferred by blood, yet they handle body pars without gloves, cover themselves with blood, on the face where it is very possible to get contact with mouth, eyes and nose (through sweat). A level of stupidity beyond that which is reasonable for humans to display and still live.

The second part of the season started strong, with the father having to face his one son was “off” and trying to figure out a way to save him (which we know will not be possibly, eventually he will have to put a bullet in the kid’s head) but they it went to pieces in the following way:

1) why are all the leaders women? Not realistic. The recon chick, the mom with the other group, it just does not match reality, where the groups would coalesce around a strong male figure.

2) The recon chick was pretty hot and she would not go for a sensitive druggy who risked every thing to get a little girl a cupcake. If she did he would be beaten up by a Hispanic guy who figured the girl was his. A lot of male battles are over fertile women and once it was tooth and nail, the strong would take what would be willingly offered to them. Once again the inability to reflect the basic human reality of how humans behave under stress just kills believability.

3) They are still so stupid. The scene in the bar where they get drunk and start playing the piano, the splitting up when they have no idea how many dead are around, the turning on of the lights at the hotel at night, the mom acting out at the gang hang out. I mean really it is just so dumb that the ability to suspend disbelief is pretty much gone.

4) How is it in urban areas there are not that many dead but in the middle of the desert there are lots of them? Just dumb.

5) The druggy was wounded, got badly chewed up by dogs and yet, after covering himself with blood did not pick up the deadly virus. Yet prior when folks got bit they turned in short order. The inability of the series to utilize common rules in this alternative reality once again kill the show.

6) It seems like folks worry more about mommy and daddy issues then surviving. Once again stupid and unrealistic.

The show is a mess. Yet I watch it....

And that was disappointing and not necessarily because he turned out gay. When he made his appearance in the last couple of episodes of season one he came off as a badass Alpha male who showed a lot of promise. He seemed to be the only one with an inkling of what was going on and how to handle it. About the time they revealed him as gay he turned into this mopey beta character who has now pretty much evolved into a lackey for Madison, the boring mom character.

If you’d like to check out another dopey show, watch “Aftermath” on Syfy channel... really trite characters in the middle of ‘the End days’..

but I DO love me some “Z Nation”...

You have to remember that the original TWD series is based on comic book characters.
I think this show is more realistic than Walking Dead. Walking Dead has too many silly COMIC BOOK characters they are trying to translate to live action. That doesn’t really work for me. And from the previews, it looks like they are bringing in even more comic characters this season. So far , FTWD has characters that are genuine, and based in real life.
