The only entity the Constitution forbids to interfere with our freedoms including free speech is the federal government.

Yeah, that's preaching to the choir here at FR where many understand and respect our Constitution. That's a good thing as I've been out on the wild wild internet and many leftists do not understand that or even much about our Constitution. Of course much of that is on purpose as to undermine it.

I've just read a few comments before about threads like these should not be allowed to go along with boycotting the NFL which I don't agree with, even though my interest has waned over the PC culture. Bender2's NFL threads have been a long-time tradition here and I respect that. As long as management here has no problems with it, and it appears they don't, the NFL threads are still enjoyable reads, IMHO.

I’m glad you get it but many here don’t get that the Constitution is pointed at the feds and NOWHERE ELSE with few exceptions. Few on FR talk about the Constitution and the unconstitutional feds as THE ISSUE in our country - and that the Constitution is the ONLY LEGAL bulwark of freedom against the tyranny of the feds.

There’s a lot of confusion flying around on the Right as well as the Left, partly at least because of the deliberate dumbing down of students in government schools.

Re: That Professor Fate shtick is past its sell by date.

If any of you ever watched The Great Race when Professor Fate at the end jumps onto the Great Leslie’s car hood and said, “You cheated! Cheated! I hate you! I refuse to accept! I won’t win any way but my way! You’ve ruined my reputation, do you hear? You I hate! You and your hair that’s always combed, your suit that’s always white, your car that’s always clean! I refuse to accept! I challenge you to another race!”

Now ask yourself, just who in the NFL, though accused of ball deflating cheating, is so apparently perfect with a super hot wife with his hair that’s always combed, teeth always bright white and he always seems to win without any effort, THEN you know without any doubt what so ever why the Professor has to have Tom Brady right in his cross hairs.

If you are a Tom Brady/Patriots fan just tell yourself when the Professor says “Tom Brady” on the NFL Live Thread it is “The Great Leslie” that he means—

Of course, that’s horse manure, but that the way for you Pattycakes fan to last this season especially if Tom takes the Pats to the Superbowl and beyond.

Live Long... And Laugh a Lot

And keep that cash coming in... Spock and Kirk don't come cheap!

The more the league goes after Brady, the bigger fan of his I become.

I hope he throws 50 TDs this season.

Okay, since no one I know of is boycotting college games... here are my picks for this weekend:

First and foremost, OU Gals' Lives Matter, Too!, so I pick #19 Oklahoma Sooners to kick FSU's hind end from here to next Tuesday--

True! We live to comfort... or be comforted!

#10 Nebraska will beat Indiana and that's because Penny also likes to comfort or be comforted, too--

I do... I do!

#1 'Bama will slip by #9 Tennessee--

While my Aggies rest up for next week's games against 'Bama, them old UTeasips get a semi-bye against Iowa, yet don't be surprised if the 'Good Bye Charlie' show is extended--

Lucky #13 Houston will get back on the winning track against Tulsa--

#25 Navy will beat East Carolina when and if they catch those rain-soaked Pirates--

Air Force will get a win in the Cotton Bowl against New Mexico--

Those Army boys of big's should beat Lafayette--

And old Slippery Rock should notch another victory... against Indiana University--

Re: The tagline of xzins "Free Republic Gives YOU a voice heard around the globe."

If your FR tagline says "Free Republic Gives YOU a voice heard around the globe"... and you cry "Boycott the NFL or else!" you may be a big time hypocrite!

So sorry... just could not resist--

How about them Bolts? Good call, Cletus.

So we’re ALL picking the Falcons over Seattle, who the oddsmakers have as 6/6.5 point favorites? I hope we’re all correct.

Well, in all honesty I would have picked the Broncos last night so give me one loss there. As for the rest of the week...

49ers at Bills. I read Kaper-dink is starting. I hope he is sacked early and often. Bills have played well the last two weeks and the Niners are in disarray. Bills!

Iggles at Deadskins. Deadskins have shown life the last three weeks, winning all three. The Eagles showed they are not necessarily Super-Bowl-bound last week against the Lions. Deadskins get it done at home. Redskins.

Browns at Titans. Browns will remain winless, even though it's only the Oilers... er, Titans. Titans.

Ravens at Giants. My Ravens have lost two in a row. It's tough to win a game relying on your kicker and not breaking the 20-point barrier. Jersey Jints are in a mini-tailspin too though and it will continue Sunday. Ravens.

Panthers at Saints. Five games into the season and the Panthers are wondering WTF?! I like the Saints at home here. Saints.

Jaguars at Bears. Jags look to build on their London win from two weeks ago. It ain't gonna happen. Da Bears get a lesson in how to win from the Cubs and... Bears.

Rams at Lions. Two Jekyll-and-Hyde teams. Which versions of which will show up?! Rams are playing the rookie QB whereas Stafford is a known quantity, take that whichever way you like! Lions.

Steelers at Dolphins Big Ben and Company rolled over the Jets last week and they'll roll right over Miami too. Don't know how they lost to Philly but...Steelers.

Bengals at Patriots Bengals join the Panthers for the most disappointing start to the season, and it doesn't get any better for them this week. That hiccup from the Pats against the Bills two weeks ago? Tom Boy is back Now - ask the Browns - and that's far in the rear view now. Patriots.

Chiefs at Raiders My playoff-bound Raiders won a wild one last week and they'll somehow pull out another W this week, led by Carr and Cooper.Raiders.

Falcons at Seahawks I said last week the trip to Denver will show if the Falcons are for real. They won, but with last night's Broncos loss that no longer looks like such a big deal. So.... another road test for the Dirty Birds. Seattle is still formidable at home but has struggled on O. I don't think they'll put up enough points to overcome ATL. Falcons.

Cowboys at Packers. Dak Prescott and the 'Boys travel to Lambeau.... The Pack seem to have addressed their issues of the first three games. Prescott is still a rookie.... And I'm still on the Rodgers bandwagon. Packers.

Colts at Texans. Two woulda-been contenders. Okay it's only Week 6 but things are looking grim for both of these squads. Colts.

Jets at Cardinals Well, here's a mortal lock for Week 6! The Jets are going to meltdown this season and this week is another step in that process. With or without Carson Palmer Arizona is way too much for Gang Green. Cardinals.

And there you have it! Good luck to everyone this weekend!
