These individuals note that the TNC officials are reacting to reports received during the week of April 25 from their own sources of information, the French General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), and British external intelligence service (MI-6), stating that AQIM has acquired about 10 SAM 7- Grail/Streela man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS or MPADS) from illegal weapons markets in Western Niger and Northern Mali. These weapons were originally intended for sale to the rebel forces in Libya, but AQIM operatives were able to meet secretly with these arms dealers and purchase the equipment.

In the same email string...to paraphrase...they discuss friendlies in Tripoli asserting the weapons might be headed to Pakistan to counter US strikes there (in retaliation for Bin Laden’s death) and the friendlies concern that this might sour relations. This claim is basically dismissed in the email Asa distraction.

I’ve been under the impression that the manpads were already in Libya under Khadaffy’s control. Once Obama/Clinton had him taken out, the power vacuum commenced. All weapons caches were abandoned by security and the rush to seize the arms began.
Ambassador Chris Stevens was working on acquiring some of these weapons back. Of course, Obama intended on these arms making their way over to Syria.
Stevens knew too much so he had to go. The Republicans are complicit in the cover-up. McCain and his ilk are deep into this.
