Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton is narrowing in on Donald Trump's lead in Texas, according to a new poll released on Tuesday.
Trump leads Clinton 41% to 38%, according to the latest University of Houston survey. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson stands in third place with 4% support, followed by Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 1%, with 11% undecided. GOP presidential candidates have won Texas by no less than 11 percentage points since 2000, according to a memo accompanying the poll results. Democrats last won Texas in a presidential race in 1976.
The poll also showed that, despite Trump's narrow lead, 53% of Texas voters thought Clinton would be elected as the next US president compared to 23% of voters who said they thought it would be Trump.
The Hobby School of Public Affairs surveyed 1,000 likely Texas voters between October 7-15 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. In another poll published Tuesday, St. Norbert College found Clinton ahead of Trump in Wisconsin, 47% to 39%, followed by Stein at 3% and Johnson at 1%.
The St. Norbert College poll surveyed 664 likely voters in Wisconsin between October 13-16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

Aside from WI last night, Trump is going to states where he can and will win. WI was just a middle finger to Ryan.

Just yesterday poll had him up big time in Texas. They must have just polled people in certain parts of Austin.

Any state where Clinton is ahead is never reported as “neck and neck”.
Maybe they’re spreading out the poll numbers to make it seem as though she’s got even the most unlikely states wrapped up.

Maybe Dallas , Travis and some of the small counties surrounding the Mexico border as that’s the norm for Texas.

I'm leaning towards 2, and not just because that's the side I would prefer. I'm thinking if it was 1, it would be a bit better organized. They would have avoided the mistakes we see here.
The second scenario seems more likely too me. It seems more desperate, which is matching with what we are seeing. They are manipulating the polls, but not able to do it in a way makes it look like it's not manipulated. Look at the Fox poll that had Hillary up among all women by something like 15%, BUT had Trump up around 3% with White Women - NOT POSSIBLE.
You could be right, but it seems to me they would go after traditional swing states if that were the case. Texas has a lot of illegal immigrants and so does Arizona. With our favorite "felon" exposing voter fraud the Dems may have over played their hand. Texas will not go for Hillary without voter fraud. But someone is pushing that narrative.
I agree with you about the FOX poll with women voters. That made no sense to me at all. I love how this man fights!

I would volunteer to take the elderly in nursing homes who want to vote but how do i know who they’ll vote for!!
If she was anywhere in striking distance, there would be ads on Beaumont television, one of the democrat strongholds in the state, and there are none.
