Miss Iceland announced she is quitting the Miss Grand International beauty contest in Las Vegas after being told she has “too much fat.” Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir wrote a letter to the organization informing them of her decision after she was told to lose weight if she wanted to stand a chance to win.

The 20-year old shared the letter on Instagram. “I am a very strong woman, but sometimes my strength isn’t enough,” it read.

Fair enough. Here's a pic of Miss Iceland's boyfriend, the one on the right.

THANK YOU.
I used to work in the fitness business and appreciate the work and dedication it takes to look like that. Men not only have to PUMP right, they have to eat right, sleep right and generally live right. Maintenance is more difficult because IT NEVER ENDS.

It takes some kind of vanity too but men don't corner the market on that. The cosmetic industry spends $BILLION$ on women's make-up, wigs, cleansers, soaps, hair removers, hair plugs, dyes, clips, cuts...you name it.
And don't forget the manicures, pedicures, eyebrow shaping and coloring, eyelash coloring, lengthening and curling. Nail/finger polish.

THEN cosmetic surgery!
Billions of dollars...

Thanks again for the pic.

Yeah, like that’ll ever happen. We need some speedo pix, thank you very much, better with that sex-starved dumb look. Otherwise it is not equivalent to the soft porn always posted!

The ONLY humans on this planet who look good in a SPEEDO are nineteen-year old male swimmers...OLYMPIC caliber.
Since they wear swim caps and goggles we never see their face. And who needs to?

You're on the interwebs, lady, do your own searching and posting. However, here is Kim Ji-Hoon.

Listen muffin, I KNOW I'm on the internet.
This Kim guy doesn't impress me...small body. Chump change.

Now THIS guy had the body: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEgVM3bzN_Y

Watch a REAL man with a REAL body.
He began weight training at the age of 15. He won the Mr. Universe title at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times.

NO ONE did that ever before and no one has done it since. He has remained a prominent presence in bodybuilding and has written many books and articles on the sport. He is widely considered to be among the greatest bodybuilders of all time as well as bodybuilding's biggest icon.

Enough "searching" for you? Like it took me ONE click to find Mr. Body-of-all-time.

I know, have experienced the dedication required — track & XC runner in HS, crew jock & an asst. to the fitness coach in college.

I believe Miss Iceland’s bf is a pro soccer player, and she was a secondary school pole vaulter. Both are only in their early 20s. She is petite, but very fit, with well developed shoulders, glutes, & legs. Video clip on her IG shows her sprinting very fast in her bare feet in a park. She also is a Nike brand ambassador. An Icelandic Lindsey Vonn, if you will.

I assume it’s her athletic build that the knothead pageant official criticized. Does appear she is a few pounds heavier since her Miss Iceland win, but to me it looks better and overall probably a healthier weight for her. Sounds like the publicity is getting her job interviews. Likely she has had it with the pageant whirl and was ready to move on.

Someone used the word fat in connection with this girl. No wonder so many teens and young women are anorexic.

The history of sports/athletics tells you that sports and games were developed to keep young men fit for war. They were NOT developed for women.
However women got into sports. As they were begun for men the most successful women in sports are those women with more of a man's body: minimum hips and minimum boobs.
The more, er, "full bodied" women aren't usually seen in ANY sports. Even women swimmers have huge backs and full-bodied muscles.

I remember seeing the first women weight lifters. Not the kind of body MOST women would like having. I can't think of too many men would would find the world class athletic woman's body particularly appealing. Mind you, there are men out there who would.

Even in dance the women do MUCH different things. In ballet women go "on-toe" and men don't.
Modern dance, whose name explains all, sees women and men doing different thing.s
However in ALL dance MEN lift WOMEN and toss them around. Even DANCE expresses the rather large differences between the genders.

Women can do what they want. That's a good thing. But, when they do men's sports they end up with men's damaged bodies and they WILL hit them when they are middle aged. "Hidden injuries" are a reality. The brutal treatment of those bodies, male or female will occur.

College age women who play soccer DO get those big hips. Fact of life...as they are NOT Olympic caliber. Playing soccer with that body has a large difference from hip to knee...not the straight line as men and women-built-like-men have and TREMENDOUS injuries to the knees occur. I saw in over and over again with the Latina women who played soccer.

No one can tell these women what they don't want to hear. I just hope some of them will be smart enough to realize the source of there 40-year-old pains and tell their daughters and nieces to do an activity that WON'T damage them.

An interesting exposition, thanks. I believe Miss Iceland’s competitive sports days are behind her, as are her pageant runs. Hopefully she will move into good carryover activities that maintain fitness and don’t cause long term damage. The challenge for us all.

The Sami are actually not Nordic.

They are genetically distantly related to Hungarians, I believe, and are darker.

The "hidden injuries" plague football players the most. All those hits, especially the ones of head-to-ground," do affect them. Young men and women SEEM to heal in weeks. But, the joints damaged really are not fully healed. When the hard playing athletes reach FORTY they begin to feel the aches and pains from those same injured body parts.

Muscles CAN replicate but joints cannot. Neither can those MULTIPLE hits to the head.

It won't stop men from the sports but maybe it can, at least, remind them of WHY they hurt. Hurt doesn't go away at 40 either. Arthritis sets in and their REAL crippling begins.

SWIMMING hurts no one so it's the best for the body. In fact, after many laps the only thing on their mind is AIR!! I need AIR!!
