Lodestone
Noun, (lohd-stohn)
Busy morning. A++ Hope your baby is healthy. What breed?
A++++ He rode the wave all the way home! A Homerun!
So they werent preselected from both parties- they will be Republicans voting?
I’m of the old school that commemorates George Washington’s birthday on February 22nd, not President’s Day.
So my old calendar reads November 11th, Armistice Day as we know here, and Remembrance Day in the UK and Canada.
The red poppy is that reminder for all allies of WWI.
Dilute actual history at your own peril...
That’s correct. A slate of electors is nominated by each party. If candidate X wins the state, then his slate of electors becomes the actual electors for the state.
Golden Retriever. 11.5 weeks old. 17.8 labs this am. either my scale weighs heavy (yay!) or the vet scale is light. He was 18.2 the other day. Or, he just wiggles a lot.
He’s still wearing his new harness/seat belt. It was an ordeal to put on, but it works like a charm. The vet techs took his picture and put it on the cover of his new puppy book. Cute. Required several treats to keep him still (which I provided) but now he thinks the vet techs are angels and he follows them around.
Handled the shots and exam like a champ. Got lots of good advice on house/crate training. Lets see if I can follow it.
lbs, not labs! Geeeeesh!!
The Brits really commemorate this day with heavy use of the poppy on lapels and in displays. Way more than we do. I’m sure it’s because they were so much more affected than we were. It wiped out a whole generation of men and left thousands of women spinsters.
Ahhh. Sweet.
The guys and I were talking at work about how much we are enjoying the angst that is melting the little liberal snowflakes and their democrat enablers...
Trump is a lodestone for those
Willing to move a few boulders
Start in DC and say you’re fired
To the self serving office holders
They are supposed to work for us-
And it’s not the other way around
They weren’t hired by the voters
To run the ship of state aground
But that is exactly what they did
Hillary and friends most of all-
Stop telling us how mean we are
For enjoying her well-earned fall...
Payback is a bitch-I hope being convicted of a crime is next for her...
I’m really missing my Husky girl-the coyotes are active in the woods now that the nights are cool-they howl down by the river-she loved for me to take her out at night and sit with her while she-and sometimes I-howled back at them for while-I’m so glad she lived such a long life for a big dog-there will never be another companion like her for me...
It’s taken me 3 1/2 years to consider replacing (wrong word, you can never replace) Max, Riley’s predecessor. Every day I remember how easy Max was. He was a rescue Golden — probably 1 1/2, or 2, when we got him. He was a wild child, but a few months of dog school shaped him up. A puppy, I find, is a whole different thing. He also had a 12 hour bladder and NEVER made a mess in the house, or in the office. At the end, we didn’t even know he was sick until the last 2 weeks. He would ask to go out and then he would throw up his meal out of sight. Pancreatic cancer. He could no longer digest his food and suffered a precipitous loss of weight the last 2 weeks.
All of them -- Bill, Chelsea, Podesta, and Shalala (president of the Clinton Foundation) and everybody else involved. Brazile, too. And no "country club" prisons for them either. Treason deserves bread and water and the brig.
I got Husky girl when she was 8 weeks old from an AKC kennel near the Canadian border that bred and sold Siberian Huskies for show, pets and sled races-she was always a very good puppy, albeit wild and crazy if she didn’t get at least one run a day-and she learned early on to be gentle and nice with the cats-she actually loved cats...
She was always healthy and happy-only started slowing down a bit in her last year or so-she was over 17 when she just went to sleep on her bed as usual and didn’t wake up again-because of her extreme age, I’d been expecting that to happen. Her appetite was fine-she weighed 75-80 lbs since she was 2-3, and she’d been for a run as usual that night, and was fine-her heart just finally gave out after a happy day...
She wasn’t all that active in the summer-it is too hot here for a furry dog bred for the frozen North like that to run around-but she loved winter-the colder the better, and especially with snow-this will be the first winter without her...
I agree-they should all be sent to a supermax, like where El Chapo is going-unfortunately, even outright espionage is treated now as white collar crime-it is likely that if the bitch and her minions get hard time, they will serve it in a club fed...
Martha Stewart did hard time just for insider trading-totally unfair...
Thanks so much - I don’t know why this threw me so badly - I’m sure I knew this in the past but my fear of them somehow coming back and stealing this from us just got the better of me! lol
He sounds adorable. A local vet puts down a towel on the exam table and squirts several lines of that cheese from a can....they dogs are so busy licking the towel they don’t even realize the vet is doing anything to them.....
OH J, I am so sorry - I haven’t been around much and didn’t know you had lost your buddy.
17. That is amazing for a big dog! That is a cat, or toy poodle, age. You must have given her a very good life.
My little fuzz ball is chewing on my pajama cuffs right now as I check my computer!
Your local vet sounds like a wise man. My guy had a vet tech helping him with a usually very wiggly and inattentive Riley.
Sorry. That last remark about the vet should have been directed to Whysa. I conflated 2 posts in my not-quite-awake-yet mind.
