Not to hijack the thread, but I watch youtube by pasting the URL into VLC media player. Doesn’t work with livestreams though. Any ideas?

Ahhh, 8.1, how could I forget? My 8.1 laptop died, so the closest I can match is 10. I use Waterfox and just enable flash whenever the browser tries to blcck it. I hope someone can be of more help.

Years ago, before YouTube there were “web-cams.” They were set up in an interesting and you could click on one and watch what ever was going on, waves crashing around a light house, a busy city intersection, paint drying on a wall...isnt “live streaming” the same thing?

I disabled flash because it is a giant security risk. I'm pretty sure my issue is with VLC, not the operating system. VLC plays all other youtube videos fine, just not live streams. Anyway, thanks for trying.
