I know a teacher who was fired for political commentary to STUDENTS in a public school setting. And this guy Dixon believes he has the right to lecture a VP-elect, or President, for that matter? Oh, hell no... this can not be allowed to stand. You can NOT have your cake and eat it too. If someone would fund this teacher, he would sue every school system that did that to him and use this "Hamilton" case as a precedent to win.
It is discourteous that the cast of Hamilton chose to air their political views at their show while Pence was in attendance.
It was neither the time or place. He came to see a show just like everyone else.
The Broadway show Hamilton is Diversity itself!
The actors screwed up. In their arrogance and self loathing, they made a bad decision to single out someone in their audience.
“And this guy Dixon believes he has the right to lecture a VP-elect”
It was a brilliant marketing gambit that I’m sure Trump can appreciate. Everybody is talking about Hamilton. This little controversy has gone viral all over social media.
They should have given Pence the microphone so he could respond. It would have been epic.
Who said? "Though liberals do a great deal of talking about hearing other points of view, it sometimes shocks them to learn that there are other points of view."
Was it William F. Buckley Jr.?
This asshat Dixon isn’t fit to shine Pence’s shoes.
If the producer of the show is OK with the employee’s actions, then no, it’s not the same.
“It is discourteous that the cast of Hamilton chose to air their political views at their show while Pence was in attendance.”
Before Bill Clinton, Hollywood did not engage in public politics to the degree they do today. Suddenly, Hollywood was being courted for money, invited to the White House and, as a result, getting exposure on the news. They loved the attention and the Hollywood ego kicked in. They felt important and, of course the world needed their opinions and commentary! Naturally!
When they aren’t in the spotlight they feel like Cindy Sheehan, who stocked George Bush after he had met with her. She was desperate for the excitement of the limelight. All of Hollywood are desperate for attention. They compete to post the nastiest anti-Republican Tweets not because they have something of substance to say, but for another moment in the limelight.
We need to stop paying attention to show business people.
Having the Governmrnt Grant, the racist play should be prosecutes with the Trump DOJ. A refund for any funds, penalties, and a Tony. Let the racist pay with their only funding.
