The song was also recorded by the Clippers, who apparently hail from France.

That was the music of my parents.To this day I have a love of such music both because it was amazing *and* it reminds me of simpler times.I grew up with The Yardbirds,Stones,Byrds,etc and I love them to this day.But “Forever” (and other things from that era) will always have a place in my heart.

I think that Plant kept the appropriate atmosphere vis-a-vis the 1945 recording. I’ve been known to be wrong.

Interestingly, Tonight by the Little Dippers (1960) sounds very similar to I Want To Go Home by the Coon-Sanders Nighthawks (1932)
