WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Barack Obama and his family are spending Thanksgiving with friends, family, turkey and touchdowns, as he puts it, and reflecting "on what truly binds us as Americans."
He says the country has just emerged from "a noisy, passionate and sometimes divisive campaign season." But he says in his weekly radio address that the holiday "reminds us that no matter our differences, we are still one people, part of something bigger than ourselves."
The White House says Obama made nine telephone calls to service members who are on deployment.
The Obamas' menu begins with a large list of hors d'oeuvres, shifts to a buffet of turkey, ham, prime rib and chicken wings and ends with a selection of six pies - if there's room left.
Here is the full menu, according to the White House:
Hors d'oeuvres: mini BLTsP, chicken satay with peanut chili dip, mini crabcakes, pizza bites, fresh vegetables and hummus, pigs in the blanket
Dinner buffet: thyme-roasted turkey with garlic jus and cranberry, range relish, honey-baked ham with apricot-mustard glaze, prime rib and creamed horseradish and shallot, marmalade, fried chicken wings
Sides: cornbread stuffing with chorizo and roasted peppers, oyster stuffing, braised winter greens (collards, kale, and turnip greens), macaroni and cheese, sweet potato gratin, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh greens and kale Caesar salad, dinner rolls
Dessert: banana cream pie, coconut cream pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, cherry pie

What? No healthy school lunches?
My happiness wont be complete until these ugly people fly off in marine one come January..
“Nothing says Thanksgiving like pizza bites?”
Imagine the grand and glorious menu of traditional American Thanksgiving dishes the Trump family will have in the White House for he next eight Thanksgivings.
Ahhh...
I bet Michelle gets meat sweats and growls when she chews
An ample helping of crow too, I would suspect.
I’d prefer Trump just threw their bags out on Pennsylvania Ave. and made them hitchhike home.
I wonder what Obama's pawns in the black ghettos had for THEIR holiday dinners...if they had a chance to eat between bullets flying into their windows and attending funerals.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: Uniting us on Thanksgiving Day
Comments by President Barack Obama
Weekly Message
The White House
November 24, 2016
Hello everyone. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving on behalf of the Obama family - Michelle, Malia, Sasha, Grandma, Bo and Sunny. Like many of you, we will spend the day with friends and family, turkey and touchdowns. We will thank for having each other, and for all that God has given us. And we will reflect on what really unites us as Americans.
This has never been so important. As a country, we have just come out of a noisy, passionate and sometimes divisive campaign season. After all, elections frequently where we emphasize what sets us apart. We are faced in a "we" contest against "them." We focus on the candidate we support rather than some of the ideals we share.
But a few weeks later, Thanksgiving reminds us that no matter our differences, we are still a village, part of something bigger than ourselves. We are communities that we move forward together. We are neighbors who take care of each other, especially the most unfortunate among us. We will always simply be Americans.
So during the Civil War confusion, President Lincoln saw what mattered most - the inalienable truths that so many gave their lives and made possible "a new birth of freedom." And so precisely when the fate of The Union was hanging on the balance sheet, he boldly proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving, a day when the most precious things of this nation "should be acknowledged with solemnity, reverence and gratitude, with one heart and one voice for all the people American."
Today, we remain grateful for those blessings, and for all those who asserted that they would be our heritage. We remember the determined patriots who came to the edge of the world in search of freedom. We thank the brave men and women who defend this freedom in all corners of the world. And we honor everyone - from the first Americans to our newcomers - who continue to shape the history of our nation, enriching our heritage and giving meaning to our foundational values, values we should never take for granted. That in the United States, we are not united by a single race or religion, but rather united by a common belief - that we are all created equal. That we can think, worship, and speak, and love as we want. That the privilege of democracy is ours, and ours alone, to strengthen and protect.
Do not ever question it, this is what makes us Americans - not where we come from, how we see ourselves or what faith we practice, but the ideals to which we pledge our allegiance. It is our ability to live in conformity with the creed as old as our foundation: "E Pluribus Unum" - that of many, we are one. And as long as we continue to accept the contributions of all people, as long as we support each other, defend what is right and remain true to these ideals - not only when it is easy, but when it is difficult - then no one can take away our freedom . Our best days will always be ahead. And we will continue to create a future where all our children know the promise of the United States.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Hopefully to another country...
“... the country just emerged from “a noisy, passionate and sometimes divisive...” (try EIGHT YEARS).” But he says in his weekly radio address that the holiday... blah blah blah
If hillary’d won he’d be announcing an end to Thanksgiving and telling the rest of us to shut up. I don’t even doubt it. Anyone who didn’t see that coming, including Romney, Imus, Levin and any other public figure who disparaged Trump and pretended to care about the country owe us as well as Trump, an apology. At least Rush came around in time. Just huff!
And another thing, they can pretend obama would be talking like this if he hillary had won, but we know he’s never done so before now so where’s the logic in that?
The bird tgey all ate, including the obamas, yesterday was crow.
You can bet there won’t be any family Thanksgiving meal next year. Not one that Moochie or her mother prepared anyway. She and Bambi will continue to take separate vacations, and get their victuals at whatever resort or 5-star hotel they stay at.
Don’t see the word “lavish” anywhere in the report on the lavish, FREE dinner enjoyed by the obamas, at taxpayer expense. Meanwhile, at the Trump residence, the meal they paid for themselves is considered lavish.
The media can’t stop prostituting itself. Frank Sinatra’s words about the media comprising “two dollar hookers” returns to mind, except that may be exaggerating their price.
All that kale from Michelle’s garden is going to waste.
One would assume the family would feast on feces.
the media for sale- Presstitutes.
They all had to give up their slice of pie so Michelle could have more.
