Book "How Trump Won" out in Jan; Other tidbits/updates
self | 12/2/2016 | LS

Posted on 12/02/2016 12:11:52 PM PST by LS

As many of you know, I started working on a Trump book last summer when something told me that he would win the primary, easily. It picked up speed last November when I became convinced he would win the presidency . . . easily.

My original manuscript was very historical in nature, putting Trump in the context of other candidates across our history. Along the way, however, I became a participant, partly because I knew Trump's campaign manager and partly because many of you here were active in doing research into state party registrations, then later, absentee voting, and so on. By September, I was actively providing Team Trump with raw data every morning.

This gave me a theme that I didn't think anyone else had, namely I thought Trump was going to win and I thought it was in the numbers. But other than a few pockets of data here and there, I didn't have campaign "inside" info. I wasn't on the press plane, wasn't at the rallies.

After some back and forth, Regnery decided to publish the book, but to combine my work with Breitbart's Joel Pollock, who was on the campaign plane and in the press pool. This will be edited, woven together, and the e-book will be out in January, probably by Inauguration Day and probably under the title "How Trump Won." A hardcover version will follow.

It will only go up to election day. But watching the recounts and the handwringing by "concern trolls" here, I wanted to include this update. This is strictly MY understanding of state laws and the U.S. Constitution, but I think most of you share it. If, however, someone has different info, please let me know.

* The recounts really don't matter. There are never more than a handful of votes flipped. In WI after 1 day, Trump really has about 400 MORE votes than before, as an input error in one of the precincts failed to include a digit in its original transmission, while the recount so far has "found" one additional Cankles vote.

* It is my understanding, based on the precedent of the U.S. Civil War, when several Southern states were declared "in rebellion" and therefore did not send electors to the electoral college (although Louisiana did!), the winner is determined by a majority of those states who send delegates. The only time in peacetime that a delegation did not participate was 1789 when New York's delegation was late arriving.

* Therefore, it would not matter if one state (WI) or all three (WI, MI, PA) don't send delegates, Trump would still win a majority of those who did.

* It is further my understanding REGARDLESS, any or all of the state legislatures of WI, PA, MI can at any time select/appoint/name the electors to attend the EC. They do not have to wait for a recount. All three are controlled by Republicans.

* MI's AG has filed suit to stop the recount, the election board split 2-2, so the AG has appealed to the state Supreme Court. (Does anyone know if it is majority R or D?)

* On the "faithless electors": You have heard scare-mongering stories of electors who won't vote for Trump: These are from STATES CANKLES WON. It makes no difference. In most states, it's a crime not to vote for the winner, and in all states electors are the creme de la creme of rabid Trump supporters. Highly unlikely any of them will flip. But again, the state legislature---as I understand it---sends in the electoral delegation and would have final say. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. The last time there was a "faithless elector" was in 2004, and it was a Dem who wouldn't vote for Kerry and voted for Silky Pony. You have to go back to 1976 to find just ONE "faithless" GOP elector who refused to vote for Ford because he pardoned Richard E. Nixon.

* I lived in OH and didn't know that in 2004 OH's count was protested and there was a recount and the House had to vote on Ohio's delegation.

* IF IT GOES to the House, the House selects Trump. The Senate votes on a veep. It's inconceivable that the GOP Senate would choose anyone but Pence.

In other words, for all the concern trolls, nothing will change. Trump is going to be president.

Now for the final concern troll mantra, "Trump will be delegitimized." No. There is only one person who can "delegitimize" Trump and that's Donald Trump. He WILL NOT PERMIT HIMSELF to be distracted by the drive-bys. He doesn't care what they say about him.

No candidate in history, save perhaps Lincoln, has had such a view of the media. They simply cannot threaten, cajole, or scare him. Think of McConnell, Boehner, McCain, Ryan---how these guys are so terrified of the media. Trump doesn't care. They still don't get him. This victory tour is a prime example---who else does this? Bush certainly never did, and I don't recall Reagan ever doing so.

So, long and short: President Trump will be sworn in, on time, on schedule. He won't be "delegitimized." America will be great again, and we will have a book documenting it out in January!

Congratulations on your new book, can’t wait to read it.

LS, Did you forward information regarding voter fraud reports to the Trump campaign?

There were at least two serious attempts to steal the Florida vote from DJT in Broward County. Dems routinely count on their Broward friends in the SoE to make this happen. Of course you know Broward is also home of Deb W-Schultz.

Whistleblowers thwarted this activity, but had they not been there- She would have prevailed. Aside from the usual shenanigans, over 130K absentee ballots were at risk. Followed by a second issue whereby four SoE employees are completing stacks of blank ballots (quantity-massive.)

Thank you. If you haven’t seen our WORLD history, in 2 vols, from 1898 to Obama, please look at it. It’s every bit as good as PHUSA, only “bigger” in scope.

here is vol 1, which ends in 1945:

and vol. 2 goes from 46 to 2013: https://www.amazon.com/Patriots-History-Modern-World-Vol/dp/1595231048/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=1595231048&pd_rd_r=8KNPZ2KFT4K72K2E966D&pd_rd_w=OB6LT&pd_rd_wg=xzN5r&psc=1&refRID=8KNPZ2KFT4K72K2E966D

The Florida Republican vote was suppressed by the lying media calling Florida for Gore before the panhandle polls - later time zone and largely conservative - were closed.

That was real voter suppression, and done of course by Democrat propagandists.

Had they not lied and sought to cheat for Gore, Bush would have probably won more handily, making a call for recount less credible.

(As others have noted elsewhere and elsewhen, Republicans are more likely to vote after work - because we actually work during the day, and are not free to vote during the day from being on welfare. That applies to me: I have almost always voted late in the day, after work.)

Yes, I remember.

I also remember dan blather making some ludicrous statement at that time about ‘when networks call a state, it is accurate and you can book it ‘ or some such drivel

That whole thing was surreal. Looks like the commies are trying for a redux

On the "faithless electors": You have heard scare-mongering stories of electors who won't vote for Trump: These are from STATES CANKLES WON.
In many ways I guess I am a purist. The Constitution assigns to each state the ability to “appoint” one Elector for each senator, and one Elector for each Congressman, to which it is entitled. It says nothing at all about popular election. It is traditional that all a state’s electors are selected by a statewide ballot. With the exception of Nebraska and Maine, which select only two Electors statewide, and one additionally within each congressional district. The existence of a functioning Nebraska Plan state (or two) dramatizes that the state legislatures do in fact control the way the Electors are selected.

There is one quibble, in that as I understand it if a state legislature acts to name Electors outside the mechanism of popular election, the House would reserve the right to second guess. But I suppose that since the Republicans control the House that should not constitute a serious problem.

Say what you will about popular election, the Electors are clearly a mechanism which could be robust in unforeseeable circumstances. What if a winning presidential candidate dies before the Electors meet? Even, what if both president and vice president die? The Electors might be able to agree to adapt to such circumstance - and at least present the House with a second and a third place candidate to choose from other than the (surviving) second place finisher.

But when we hear about a “faithless Elector” who is nineteen years old trying to make that sort of decision, there is something wrong with the picture. What, the POTUS has to be at least 35 - and the kid who elects him/her is not even 20? To be responsible for that sort of decision you ought to have a few gray hairs - the age requirement should be at least 35, and I would argue 45 yo. IMHO each state should consider that issue for itself.

I have a certain respect for a movement in the losing side to try, as these “faithless” electors are doing, to present the winners with an attractive counter offer. Propose a fusion candidate. Reasonable.

But I’m glad Trump won, and that it is all moot. Trump has hit the ground running already, demonstrating decisiveness and clarity and responsibility. The Carrier thing is IMHO irresponsible showmanship - but not so irresponsible that serious damage will be done. It is justifiable in that it enables Trump to mark POtUS as his territory, at a time when the Democrats are trying to undermine him. Time enough to smooth things out later, to the extent it is needed. It isn’t as if he were driving Republican small businesses under, as Obama did to auto dealers he didn’t like in ’09 . . .

Certainly ecstatic you made the decision to call this site ‘home’ as you have kept all of us up to date not only on what is going on, what to expect, but calming our fears which at times do become overblown.

Thank you times ten. Congratulations on your book. No Kindle here for an E-book; must wait for hard copy. Look forward to seeing your name up there with BO’R on the best seller list.

I don't want to hear about "faithless" electors. They are simply confused.

They weren't elected to exercise judgment but simply to deliver a message.
