I am Spartacus. Given today's date cheers to Douglas as Capt. Yalland from "The Final Countdown", an awesome 103 infomercial for the US Navy.

Got a whale of a tale to tell ya, lads
A whale of a tale or two
‘Bout the flappin’ fish and the girls I’ve loved
On nights like this with the moon above
A whale of a tale and it’s all true
I swear by my tattoo

I read some time ago he was an atheist until he got older then converted to Christianity. I hope that is true.

I saw him the other week on Turner in “Paths of Glory”. He had a lot of great roles.

There is a good chance that Kirk, at 100 years of age, is going to outlive his son Michael (72 y/o). Michael may have had a relapse of his throat cancer.
To: C19fan
Hope he lives many more years. Bob Hope and many others broke 100.

Just once, I would love to see an episode of Sea Hunt again. It was one of the first TV shows I remember.

"...wife of 62 years..." So they were married in 1954, the year after I was born. They lasted a lot longer than my parents did.
A remarkable run. Congratulations to them.

Our paths crossed on a flight from LAX to Palm Springs in the early 1960’s. He was standing up in the aisle and talking to some people who were seated. I was only a couple of rows away and got a good look at him. He is not a tall man.
