In every office, every corporate executive suite, and every law firm across this great land, the men who had got pantsed and received numerous swirlies at the hands of jocks in high school finally have their chance at redemption against their brawny tormentors.
According to a press release from CBS, “The Big Bang Theory,” the brainy sitcom which references pyramids and autotrophs in its theme song, beat out NBC’s Sunday Night Football as the top-rated, live, primetime same day show. For the past five years Sunday Night Football had owned that coveted, top spot.

I’ll take TBBT over the NFL any time.
It was a good show in its first few seasons, but I believe fully and completely that all shows should wrap up in 5 or at most 6 seasons, no matter what!

I agree. I lost interest. We get the show on DVD from Netflix, and I see an episode once in a while if I happen to be in the room. I still laugh, because I’m married to an engineer and my sons are deranged nerds, but I don’t care enough to follow it.

I watch TBBT and sometimes I don’t even know why. There just doesn’t seem to be anything else on to watch. And plus Penny and the other chicks are fun to view. And plus it is fun to laugh at guys who are dumber than I am other than that I am not a PHD.
My non violent wife says she would kill Sheldon if he was around her. However, with the lack of anything good on tv this past two months, if we can't find an old Brit show on Acorn tv, she says get a TBBT!
One of our very smart and younger female in laws hated it when we got her son and husband hooked on TBBT. Now, she watches TBBT, whenever nothing is on tv like the NFL years ago, a year ago, last week, yesterday and today and tomorrow. She was a big Eagle and former niner fan, not anymore.
It’s hardly a “brainy” sitcom, unless you consider something like ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ a brainy movie. TBBT is full of crude sex jokes, sight gags, and pratfalls. A rare show with plenty of politically incorrect humor too.
Maybe by ‘brainy’ they mean cameos by notables from the world of science fiction, real science, and computers.
Amazing such bigotry is allowed on prime time tv.

I like my Doctor Who, ME-TV, TCM, Antenna, Comet, and some El Rey (the 80s shows) if I watch any at all.
