A time traveler visits from several decades back to understand the start of the Long War.
His politics are an abomination? Sounds like he has Islam nailed just about perfectly.
Hyperion is truly brilliant.
Having read your post several times and analyzed
your format and content, I’ve concluded that you
have left the phrase:
“violate young Chinese men and various topiary sculptures”
dangling (as it were) like a rightward hanging
appendage from the rest of your block of text.
Possibly this is due to the effect of the contents
of the red Solo cup you are still nursing from
last night’s festivities.
Alternately (or possibly in conjunction with)
this is the possibility that you are simply
overly excited at the opportunity to discuss
the more prurient aspects of the subject matter.
Secular democracy is a failure.
The alternative to Christendom is not secular democracy. It is Islam.
You must choose: Christ or Mohammed.
There are no other alternatives.
Now THIS is the humblegunner I know and enjoy.
Even with Dan Simmons in the background, being a homosexual and having a burning desire to violate young Chinese men and various topiary sculptures. And his baby diaper and scat fetish, as well.
I may be a victim of my own laziness, so forgive me. I thought I had read that Simmons was politically pretty far left. Perhaps I should do a little more research before posting.
Oy, I was in a hurry to get back to trimming my shrubberies.
