Sixty three years ago, at the age of seven, in Farmington NM, I saw a Navajo family put their little kid on a Mars rocket in front of the KILLROY’S store. It started and he squalled and cried, so they took him off.
The rocket was still going so I ran and mounted that thing like a real spaceman and pulled back that handle and took off! Had great fun on their dime!
One of those great memories of childhood before everything went to hell-in-a-handbasket in Arkansas.
