Almost one year to the day that the Rams moved to Los Angeles, the Chargers now likely intend to do the same.
The Chargers plan to announce as early as Thursday that they are moving to Los Angeles, league sources said, ending a 55-year stint with San Diego and returning to their birthplace.
The Chargers played their inaugural season in Los Angeles in 1960 before moving to San Diego in 1961.

Insanity.
Why do you say that?
From suck one to suck two.
So now us in L.A. are gonna have two teams that suck. NFL rules will now ensure that we never get to see a decent game all year. We used to watch the best game of the weekend, but since the Rams showed up, we’ve been stuck watching those losers all year on Fox. Now the CBS game will be forced to be the Chargers. Both of these teams SUCK!!! Going to have to pay now to watch a decent game. I HATE the NFL local TV rules. I give up. College ball from now on.
I lived in L.A. from 2002 through 2015, so got to enjoy the best of the NFL every weekend!
Meh... stay in San Diego....
Los Angeles Lions
(since in hollywood... they always die in 3's)
Hey, thanks LA for Taking this pile of garbage from SD. Air smells cleaner already.
Raiders, 49ers and Chiefs have many bad seasons but the stadiums are still full of loyal fans with bright colors, traditions and community.
Rams rejected their loyal fans when they split for St. Louis. Now the Chargers are rejecting their loyal fans. And prices start at $800 for the cheapest Rams’ ticket. Dodgers and Lakers will always dominate the sports scene in LA.
Huh?
So in 1 year, LA goes from being unable to support one team, to now supporting 2?
I’ve read stories that L.A. could wind up with 3 teams, though I really doubt that. I’m not sure 1 team can make it there.
If Jed York is in charge, it would be better to rename the 49ers and move the, to a different location.
Technically, they are going back to Los Angeles, since they were there before they went to San Diego.
Wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see the whole league go belly up.
Roger Goodell is doing his best to make that happen.
“College ball from now on”
i think i’m headed that way myself because it seems to be like pretty much ALL NFL games such because they are ALL boring! NFL coaches pretty much all have the same philosophy: play to not make a mistake and hope the other team makes more mistakes than you do.
That’s the whole NFL game right there. And it results in a tons of three and outs as a result of running on first and second down and then passing on third, with tons of punting back and forth in the middle of the field with the sole intent of gaining field position.
Add to that incessant lame advertisements, penalties, replays, and challenges, then just fuggedaboutit!
I only watch college football, so my season is over for the year.
Occidental Tigers?
Is that you, Doug?
