If youre a regular viewer of CNNs State of the Union, you may have noticed that in both episodes since inauguration, Jake Tapper has informed viewers of the following:
Follow Jake Tapper ✔ @jaketapper We asked the Trump WH to provide a guest to explain the order & clear up any confusion (even within its own govt). They declined. #CNNSOTU 9:08 AM - 29 Jan 2017 7,561 7,561 Retweets 9,709 9,709 likes Yes, for two weekends in a row no one from the Trump administration has gone on Tappers show, even though the CNN anchor is considered a fair-minded journalist by some prominent conservative voices.
But according to Politico, this may be part of a deliberate strategy to ice out CNN:
The White House has refused to send its spokespeople or surrogates onto CNN shows, effectively icing out the network from on-air administration voices.
Were sending surrogates to places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda, said a White House official, acknowledging that CNN is not such a place, but adding that the ban is not permanent.
One CNN reporter anonymously told Politico, Theyre trying to cull CNN from the herd.
Trump administration officials appeared on other Sunday shows this week, theyve been on Fox News, and Stephen Miller was even on MSNBC with Greta Van Susteren yesterday. But per Politico:
The last time an administration official was on CNNs Sunday public affairs show State of the Union was Conway on January 8. She also appeared on CNN the following Wednesday with Anderson Cooper, the same day as then President-elect Trumps press conference where he derided CNN for publishing a report that intelligence officials had briefed both Trump and former President Barack Obama that the Russians may have negative information about Trump.
The report says the administration is still answering questions from CNN reporters (Jim Acosta asked Sean Spicer during the first official presser last week), but Spicer has continued to publicly express frustrations with the tone of CNNs coverage.

I suggest the Trump Administration discontinue ice and substitute liquid nitrogen.
If I were Trump, I would advise the SS to block CNN employees found on WH property.
Go to hell, Fake Tapper.
Trump’s administration doesn’t want to give you any credibility.
Big mystery. I heard they're an ad agency, always pushing sour grapes and bitter things to chew on. Problem is, regular folks don't want that any more. Maybe they can try to be a news network, but they'll have to figure out what real news is before trying that.
Trump is attempting a kind of Pavlovian training. It works with dogs, but I’m not sure CNN is up to it.
Counterfeit News Network
Hey CNN, what goes around comes around, buttholes.
Good, they have proven themselves to be propagandists.
CNN should no longer be treated as a legitimate news organization. At least not unless they’re going to also put the National Enquirer in the front row, same genre. .
Commie News Network....
Oh yea. So cool!
I’d like to see MSNBC lose that coverage more than CNN. Don’t get me wrong both would be “yuge.” But after hearing NPR today going on about their latest martyr what’s her name at the doj I’d say start there.
MSNBC has been more fair to Trump than CNN.
Trump has simplified it for them.
They don’t report about him fairly.
Therefore he has no incentive to meet with them.
And no, I don’t think they will get this simple message. Too much emotional double-think going on in there.
Maybe if they were a news network.
