In addition to owning multiple homes and a luxury yacht, he spends $30,000 a month on wine, travels by private jet and maintains 12 storage facilities housing his fine art and memorabilia collections.
That's according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday by his former managers who are asking a judge to rule that the actor has no-one but himself to blame for his financial troubles. 'Depp lived an ultra-extravagant lifestyle that often knowingly cost Depp in excess of $2 million per month to maintain, which he simply could not afford,' attorney Michael Kump wrote in the cross-complaint. 'Depp, and Depp alone, is fully responsible for any financial turmoil he finds himself in today.'

- Johnny Depp as Donald Trump-
Then, he cut off the tip of his finger and wrote a message in blood on a window about his girlfriend's cheating:
So, he's just like you and I- we hate Trump, all spend $30,000/month on wine and write messages in blood while smoking mushrooms.
shouldn’t he be donating all that money to “refugees”?
How do you drink $30,000/month in wine?
It always struck me as bizarre that so many newly wealthy celebrities cannot figure out the simple calculus of setting aside 15% of their income in stable investments, in case things go bad.
Truely bizarre. Many do figure it out and live long and prosper. Many do not.
I can help!
Let’s see, decent wine is about $80 a bottle but he’s probably drinking real decent wine and so we’ll figure $150/bottle. Now that should be about 200 bottles/month at 750ml equals 150,000ml’s.
Now a box of good Franzia or such has 5l’s and so for the cost of approx. $18/box equals $540/month.
Think of the savings with this one minor change to consumption.
Now, I’ll agree that Franzia doesn’t rate very high on the ‘decent wine’ scale but after three or four hits who’ll know?
Certainly not this jaded ass.
Calculus? Heck, that's not much more than advanced arithmatic.
I’m no financial advisor, but my guess is that it has something to do with the fact that he’s completely bat-sh&$ crazy
There are single bottles that go for more than that...saw one before....didn’t get a taste ... a lot of them are pure investment and/or brag rights. $100/bottle wine is not rare and 1 a night for a month would get you to 3K...so I could see a few cases easily getting to 30K. (again haven’t had any of those).
But yeah that’s a lot of wine. I’m guessing he was ordering 5 cases at a time if he tried something and liked it. Just silly.
At $500 a bottle that is 2 bottles of wine per day. That’s pretty dear stuff. If it is Ripple (say Chateau Ripple Blanc, Jan 30th vintage, 1.69 a pint) that is 74 gallons per day.
That's a lot on cabbage - Id honestly be dead in a week - od'd on butter and lobster in a hot tub chock full of 5 pounders and 3 blondes....nekkid of course
Drugs and stupidity; the Marlon Brando way of life. Never works out.
How many luxurious carnival parties per month?
How is that lavish?
I'll bet he was buying the "collectible" stuff that goes for thousands of dollars per bottle. Besides, the wine is just the tip of the iceberg - he was spending $2 Million per month, total (not including the major purchases like his umpteen mansions, his yacht or his island in the Bahamas).
I'm not saying that he shouldn't enjoy his good fortune, but a touch of moderation wouldn't hurt.
One easy way would be to drink nothing but premier cru burgundy and first growth bordeaux
He may have expensive tastes in wine but I know enough about Hollywood to know he’s got a large entourage that he likes to indulge with booze, drugs and undoubtedly women. Once all that dries up, they’ll be off.
Each bottle is $1,000?
He’s a collector, according to the article he has multiple storage facilities housing collections of art and other things.
My guess is he was investing/collecting/speculating as well as drinking.
Probably a bunch of it in the wine cellar in his French country estate.
He used to hang out with Keith Richards, bet he’s got a ton of very collectible guitars.
The real expensive stuff from a bucket......
Same as me. But I just put a couple hours of overtime to pay for it.
