Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Friday accused President Trump's senior adviser Steve Bannon of being "a stone cold racist and a white supremacist sympathizer."
Jeffries on Friday told MSNBC that any meeting between Trump and the Congressional Black Caucus must exclude Bannon.
"We're looking forward to an open dialogue, but Steve Bannon should not be in the room," Jeffries said.
Asked to elaborate on his position, he said that he does not wish to normalize Bannon.
"Well listen he's a stone cold racist and a white supremacist sympathizer. It'd be hard for me to participate in any meeting with Steve Bannon that normalizes his presence in the White House," he said. Numerous Trump aides have defended Bannon in the past, maintaining that he is not racist.
Jeffries also said the Congressional Black Caucus would be interested in having a meeting with Trump "if he in fact is genuinely interested in working on issues of importance to black America."
Trump was asked at a press conference Thursday why he has not met with the Black Caucus. In reply, the president said he would meet with the group, asking reporter April Ryan, who is black, if she could help set up a meeting.

His sort of Cultural Marxist is always saying that all whites are racist (even if they don’t realize it), perpetuate the white power structure, benefit from white privilege (yes, even impoverished whites over wealthy blacks), and should be suffering from white guilt and redistributing their money to blacks (i.e. reparations) if they have any decency.

Why, Bannon’s in favor of borders, enforcing the law, and supporting the police against criminals, of course. What more would a lefty need to hear to come to that conclusion?
Ha! Double standard is an understatement here.
If Bannon is not welcome then Trump should insist that Sen. Tim Scott be present at the meeting. That provides Trump with an ally at the meeting and prevents the CBC from making spurious charges like pretending Trump uttered the n-word in their presence, etc. Having Dr. Carson attend would also be a positive move.
If the CBC really wants to discuss issues and not just grandstand, they should welcome people of color that Trump happens to invite, yes?

The name Hakeem is Arabic for someone who is superior - ruler, etc.
Society has changed, not always for the better. There's not a lot wrong with this guy that getting regularly popped in the mouth wouldn't cure.
BTW, I have not hear yet whether the CBC allowed Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) into the CBC but they famously rejected Allen West when he tried to join. Rep. Love should also attend the meeting and be a prerequisite for meeting at all.
