President Trump is sending to South Korea to potentially kick some ass, I thought it would be cool to see hi-def footage of how they refuel these babies. And it is!

My old first sergeant used to say we should bomb north Korea with canned food, transistor radios, penthouse magazine and cold beer.

Good point but....I trust the men making the decisions on this. They know one heck of a lot more of things REALLY going on right that now we don’t. I trust Trumper 100% on this.
That video is pure propaganda. There’s no way they are refueling. That old bird can hardly fly, that’s actually a towing boom so another airplane can pull it along.
We used to watch them take off, huge clouds of black smoke poured out of the engines. I’d tell young airmen it wasn’t engine smoke, that the pilot reved up the engines and dumped all the clutches at once, and the smoke was actually coming from the tires. Many believed it.
During ROTC training that summer at March AFB, CA, I had the privilege of riding in a KC-135 refueler. We watched the boom operator perform the exact same job as the video shows, refueling a B-52 in midair. It was awesome. They even let us lay down in the boom operator's couch to see how it felt.
The one thing that sticks with me to this day, is that the long wings of the B-52 flapped up and down like a bird. They were not rigid. And the outer skin on the aircraft was loose on the frame and tighten up and loosened with air pressure changes.
Great experience for a young Air Force officer in training.

My comment was made in jest. It was one of many stories we’d feed young airmen. Older stories were having them get a bucket of prop wash, or a yard of flight line.
Not too bad considering the receiver is stick flying the airplane. ex 242X1 late of Barksdale AFB 2 FMS IFR shop 66-68 and Loring AFB 42 FMS IFR shop 68-70
Not to mention a half can of dielectric.
Got a ride on a KC-135 refueling B-52’s out of March AFB in 1970. Cool!

It’d be a real short flight, however. Barely get the landing gear retracted before you opened the bomb bay doors.

It is water injection which gives the engines more thrust on takeoff. Also used on KC-135 aircraft.
Pain in the butt in winter in Alaska and Canada. While on ALERT status we had to drain them each night to keep the tanks from freezing and bursting lines, then refill them each morning.
