Took driver’s Ed with
three on the tree, but
much prefer a automatic
in stop and go heavy
traffic. Drag racers
are much more consistent
with time utilizing a
auto trans.
Still, it’s sad to loose
one’s life simply due to
what transmission one has
in their vehicle.
As far back as 1960 all mopar cars were unibody construction they were shot once the frame components started to rot.
I have had between 20-30 mopar cars (I lose count ). In 1976 Chrysler decided to NOT put expensive protective paint on their cars saving perhaps 15 bucks per car. The fenders rotted out in a few years and the government forced Chrysler to replace them. This was the Chrysler downfall that the government bailed out and lee Iococa had to fix. It was the friggin minivan that saved Chrysler.
The 1960s and early 70s Chryslers were as solid as GM or Ford unibody cars.
Besides, in my experience, the manual transmissions cars are cheaper to buy and less expensive to work on than automatics.
The 5-speed manual transmission pickup truck I own now, was displayed on the dealer's website for almost a year as I watched the price drop dramatically. When I finally drove over to the dealer's lot to see the truck, it was a beauty. I asked the salesman why it hadn't sold for so long and he said flat out, "because it's not an automatic". No one who looked at the truck knew how to drive a stick, he said.
After some haggling, I bought that truck for half the price it started out being listed at a year before. And it's been a great truck. 5-speed stick shift, just what I like.
I saw an episode of Bait Car one time that showed a neighborhood where I once lived as a kid.................
Oddity; I found myself and my Green, 3500CC Long bed, w/Shell on Google Earth. Checked the date filmed and compared it to by travels and bills for the date. I matched the area and time. I had just left the Barber Shop and I was a block away.
Have a Great Day!
I’ve seen the Google map car around my neighborhood...............
If you see it again, try to keep you clothes on , or stay indoors! ;^}
Have you ever looked at the Google satellite map images?
Check it out sometime and look for nude sunbathers!................
Yeah... real descriptive isn’t it.
Pretty horrible... hope they catch them and max them.
(also a manual driver here, and a millennial)
I work in deepest, darkest Greenspoint.
I here right now.
My office overlooks that back of the dead mall.
It really is a horrible place, full of violent, indolent dullards.
Yeah. Exxon saw the writing on the wall and moved to The Woodlands. I was very connected to that area for several years when crime was not as bad. I’m rarely in that area now, but if I do go there, I know to exercise caution. It’s sad when a person can not simply come and go to his home with his family without having to worry if some thug will kill him or his family.
There has been an uptick in these types of crimes in the past couple of years it seems. And not just in Greenspoint. I think we’ve imported some criminal elements from New Orleans, Chicago, LA, and south of the border.
