Love it! I have seen that movie a few times, and enjoy it just as much every time I see it!

For such a stupid movie, there sure were some good lines in it...I use that one all the time...”Never get out of the boat!”
Surely it’s a classic.
It’s “round up”, not “arrest.” Casablanca doesn’t work as a movie (for me), I watch it for the cynicism and ignore the sugary romance and phony francophilia.
Too many to even count in that movie!
“Conjugate the verb!” (with the ‘schwiiing’ as the sword is drawn!)
Bill Paxton’s line from ALIENS always gets me. It never fails when watching defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory.

I notice a distinct difference in the memorable quotes posted on FR than arrived at by Hollywood. I wonder why that is? (Hey, maybe I can get me some USA grant money!?)

Definitely very different; good point.
It is indeed a cynical movie, that is the whole point, the possibility and even the prospect that even people who are cynical can do the right thing when the chips are down...but of the whole movie, I love the scene where the dueling singing of Nazi (Die Wacht am Rhein) and French (La Marseillaise) songs takes place.
I do love that scene.
THANKS! I was trying to recall what he said in that scene well enough to quote it, but only had the gist of it. Even the last bit at the end of the movie where it just writes about how it is rumored(?) that he packed up his children to California and ran a shop was really great. Sort of “I would like to think that happened.”
