I read an article on divorce once and the negative effects of bio-dad leaving the home. They compared them to kids who lost their father due to death experienced. Those whose dad died had a lot less negative effects than those whose dad’s divorced and left.

Try being the dad who was thrown out!

I was lucky, my financial strength kept me close, and the kids have done well. However, not all dads have that advantage, in fact as I've observed, it can be pretty bleak!

Speaking of bleak, two of my grand kids had stepdads, and their life was bleak until grandpa and grandma helped out.

I can see that. The divorced dad’s continued presence in the world would bear in the children’s minds.
