Trump will be defeated in 2020.He has made a brutally humiliating error based on a total lie. The Sarin was from an Isis warehouse in a populated area that got hit by a bomb. The stupidity of this is beyond adequate description. I have never seen such a duping of a grown man. No evidence— no investigation. attacking Russians? WTF? Assad did nothing to this country. There is no joy tonight in Mudville.

He ended his statement with “God bless America and the world.”

I didn’t hear a bunch of Dems demanding a military strike. Now they’ve got something to yell impeachment about.

And Russia is about to pitch a bitch.

But using chem warfare on children must be answered and I mean with punishing force and brutality. And this is leadership.

Conventional weapons kill children too. And in bigger numbers. Do we actually know this was not a false flag?

Trump's intelligence agency and the NSA is filled with people who want him impeached.

And this attack happened while Xi was at Trump’s Florida home
turf. Anyone remember how the Chinese snubbed the US President at
the Chinese G20 Sept 2016 summit? I know at the time many of us enjoyed the insult because it was Obama, but it was still an insult to the President and thus the people of the US.

And here I thought FR was far too much of a Trump-uber-alles cheerleading site... and now lots of FReepers are racing to make sweeping statements and give up entirely, despite some amazing progress in less than 100 days.

What astonishes me is the way some who only jumped on the Trump Train a few months ago, would probably jump ship. I guess we could wait until Syrian people are completely gassed and that would be ok with some. Trump understands the risks involved, but he sent a very powerful signal. If you cross “his red line”, you will feel the hurt. MAGA and Safe again.

Ditto. Disgusting how many here are ready to bail on Trump. Yeah... okay. Go vote for Hillary next time, if that makes you people happy.

As for me... President Trump has intelligence WE DON’T HAVE *AND* the brains to make 10 billion dollars, beat every one of the Republicans who ran against him AND Hillary. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says it’s in America’s best interests, I believe him.

Just read on 4chan Cruise missiles intercepted by Russian defenses. This is ****ed. Which means we probably killed a batch of Russian "advisors".

No, it suggests that not all 50 missiles made it to the target. Until there is a damage assessment who knows if there were any active S300 units around and if so how many did they knock-down?

If Assad is responsible, would you rather another red line?

He should have sent Assad $450 million cash and the go ahead to develop nukes. That would have been a "historic" agreement. It sure worked to keep North Korea from making nukes, and I'm sure Iran has given up on the idea too.

What happens if he gives the State of the Union address next year in Spanish — with a giant sombrero on his head? Will that be OK if he says it’s in America’s best interests?

The hysterics are flowing tonight... what comical hand-wringing.

This event does represent a change from 8 years of Obama policy towards Syria, which was to let Assad do whatever he wanted—step over any line—without repercussions.

This would be a reasonable example of "peace through strength", some woiuld argue—and I seriously doubt that this incident will suddenly cause President Trump to become a warmongering neocon.

But let's not let that get in the way of the knee-jerk armchair quarterbacking, conducted by those who have access to much deeper knowledge than the State and Defense departments.

What would Steve Bannon say, I wonder?
