The first lady lives at Trump Tower with her and the president's son, Barron, whose private school in New York is off this week for spring break.
The per-hour cost of operating the plane is $15,846, meaning the total trip cost was at least $100,000.

because its got “his” bed and he gets to eat “his” food and Trump is reportedly a bit OCD

Because that is where he sees his wife and kid and true friends
Because he has always had a big jet and a 2 hour trip is an almost normal commute
Because DC is so hostile and stressful

Because nobody in Congress works weekends anyway (and a lot of them also go ‘home”. I believe Pelosi went to California almost every weekend when she had her own govt jet) so what’s he supposed to do?

If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Obama prevent scheduled renovations for the Oval Office and White House from taking place? It could that the time away allows the work to continue.
I read on another post that the white house was being renovated and upgraded, not a place to enjoy quiet time.
