Thought it well past time to get a 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs discussion thread going, now just 2 games into the 2017 Playoffs.
Word is Hagelin will play tomorrow.
That could be a game changer. Did they ever disclose his injury? I thought he was supposed to have been back a couple of weeks ago.

They never discuss injuries.
It appears Hagelin’s injury was concussion related.
Concussion was back in February. Current one is lower body. Was expected to be out for 4 weeks starting March 12.
The Caps player is Michael Latta, no longer on the team, he was a bit nuts. There was a 6 plus player brawl going on when he skated up the boards and decided to bite down on a stick.
I just find the whole thing hilarious.

It seems to me that the NHL IS Canada, or at least they want it to be ALL ABOUT Canada.
Over the years they reluctantly give credit to certain players from the US and Europe for their skill from time to time.
They loved Ovechkin initially and then proceeded to trash him as he continued to rack up goals. They, the Canadian NHL media, expected him to drop off like so many had before. The NHL media picked apart his game, his play, his perceived selfishness all while Ovechkin kept breaking records.
When Ovie entered the league as the number 1 draft pick he was asked about what he thought his role would be with the Washington Capitals. He replied simply “I’m a Forward, I score goals”

Yeah, that’s what the reports say. But I wonder why it was so long out. Concussion fits the time frame better.

It was a gorgeous day for playoff hockey! Was watching the first game at our local rink and I missed the 4th goal - 2nd overtime- what is past a hat trick?? What article of clothing is thrown for 4??

After watching the Hershey Bears play probably their worst game of the season and lose 4-1, it was nice to come home and catch the end of the Penguins/Caps game.
I hope the injury bug didn’t do too much damage tonight. There’s going to be a few guys taking ice baths tonight for sure!
Too bad about the Bears. The Pens though are rolling. Knock me over with a feather, the Pens are up 2 games.
The Hornquist injury looked bad. Hopefully the Hainsey injury just needed stitches.
I’m not sure what the Caps have to offer at this point. Would love to see them even it up on the road, but the game is now between their ears.
