A Texas man thwarted masked armed home invaders on Tuesday, saving his family in the process.
Around 4 A.M. four armed men wearing ski masks broke into the Houston, Texas, home of the Garcia family. They attacked the mother, father, and young daughter while two 19-year-old twin brothers attempted to barricade themselves in their room. After the intruders threatened to shoot their little sister, however, the brothers surrendered to them
"They had my little sister at gunpoint, so we couldn't do anything," 19-year-old Rene Garcia told KVUE.
"I didn't know what was happening until I saw a man holding a gun to my mom's head," Rubin Garcia, Rene's twin brother, told KPRC.
The intruders then proceeded to tie up the family and ransack the home looking for valuables.
"They took all our jewelry and all the cash our dad has," Rene told KVUE.
But the ordeal was heard by their uncle who lives next door. He grabbed a firearm and went to investigate. When he encountered the armed, masked intruders he opened fire striking two of them, killing one. At that point the other two robbers ran off.
The police have yet to identify the suspects who escaped the scene. "They were all wearing ski masks," Houston Police Department homicide detective David Stark said in a press conference.
Though the father and one of the twin brothers required stitches for their wounds, the entire family was soon back home and safe. Rubin Garcia credited his uncle for saving their lives.
"If he didn't save us, I think most likely one of us, we wouldn't be here today," he told KPRC.

If the invaders were part of a drug cartel, they may have to move elsewhere for a while, you know our government won;t protect the family or the uncle.
One out of 4 is alright. Once they identify the body I’m sure they will be able to track down the rest of them. Especially if one of them was also shot. Just look at the local hospitals.

Killed one,wounded another, and the wounded one’s in custody. Facing felony murder charges,the wounded one’s likely to inform on the other two, who will then be facing felony murder charges, plus a whole slew of others.
I read it that way as well. Is the wounded BG in custody? They don’t say.

I was 13 in 79 and kept my single shot .410 in my room. Not loaded but ammo was within reach.

I used to watch the first 48 a lot. I’m sure the wounded one will roll over and cut a deal with the prosecutor.
There has been and I think part of the reason is the police and prosecutors don’t investigate and harass the victims like they used to.

No difference, really. I was 19 in 2004 and had an arsenal AK, an SKS, and 2 shotguns, of which I owned all. And that’s just what was in my room. My dad had the arsenal
Even if they had weapons in their room the threat these bad guys made to shoot the brother’s little sister would make you think twice about shooting. But if they had weapons in their room they would not had to barricade themselves in.
Yea the other one is only eligible for a purple heart.
