I often encounter “pro-marriage” people while gathering stories for the blog. These pro-marriage people come in two varieties.
On the one end of the spectrum are people like Terrell Clemmons and Jennifer Roback Morse, who understand marriage, but who also understand the social changes that have made marriage unattractive for men. Both Clemmons and Morse have a background in STEM fields, so they are able to understand incentives and tradeoffs. They understand that society has to rollback the changes to education, divorce laws, etc. if they expect men to be interested in marriage again. They understand that men are not just accessories of women, but instead have their own desires, feelings and reasons for marrying.
On the other end of the spectrum are feminist men, who are not able to understand the changing incentives that face men in a world that has evolved under the influence of radical feminism. It is just simpler (less thinking) for these men to accept the radical feminism as a given, and then urge men to “man up”. I think a much better idea would be for the “man up” crowd to realize how marriage has changed, and how the schools and the workplace have changed, then make all of these things more attractive to men. It doesn’t do any good to try to “dare” men into jumping off a cliff. Men aren’t stupid, and they do what is in their own best interests. If the man-up crowd wants younger men to marry, then they need to change the incentives offered to men. And that means changing women first.

You are sooo right...and I’m a single woman who has heard many a men state such as you’ve written. And frankly most women don’t like “feminist” women either.
Unfortunately they’ve amassed a cult following for many years and seem to have ‘the same faces’ drumming their drums few care to hear today as they are out of date

I, too, couldn’t see any value in what’s become of American women, so I, too, went halfway around the world for a wife. That was decades ago...and still going great!
The way that I see it, it’s a probability game. There are still, probably, a few good finds in the US, but when you look at a 50% divorce rate for guys that marry locally, versus a 10% divorce rate for guys that marry gals from the Far East...the numbers speak for themselves.
So, what I say - if you want to just have fun, then American women are fine. But when it comes to SERIOUS STUFF, marriage and kids, head East.
I think you stated that very well. Obviously there are women on this site, and people with good daughters they’d like to get married to good men...but there isn’t much we can do to help them, other than remind them that 99.9% of the country has no idea what FreeRepublic is, so there’s a big universe out there for them...although, in fairness, the issues with American women extend well beyond the people on this site.
Reminds me of when Eddie Murphy talked about going to Africa and finding some woman with a bone in her nose and marrying her. Only to find a few years later she starts talking to her American girl friends.....”EDDDDIEEEEEEEE!!!!! I want to talk to YOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Reminds me of a Nigerian guy that I’ve known for a long time. Married a black American woman, came in to screaming about ‘women’ on a regular basis. Lost contact with him for 15 years. Met up again, asked him if he’s still married to her. He said (more or less): “Nope, I got rid of her. Then I went home (to Nigeria) and got new wife.” I asked him if he had any problems with his new wife. He said: “Nope, everything is fine”.
Tough lesson for him, but he did come out ok in the end...just took a trip to the Old Country to fix things.

I think you need to look up a movement called “MGTOW”, which I have come to heartily endorse. Youtube has some excellent vids on it and you might gleam something of value from them.
Having experienced more than one of the pains men such as I have undergone, I now more than ever do not plan to advise younger males to follow the so-called “marriage” route.
Being broke and never again able to earn an honest living has simply lost its attraction as far as I am concerned.
I have little enough now to attempt to scrape by and work upon simply eating from day to day. I have no desire to lose what little I have left upon a fickle and deliberately evil woman who sees men such as I as nothing more than a meal ticket in any way, shape, or form.
When the entire system is configured to take all you have when you decide that marriage is not what you wanted and most needed it to be, what sane individual would repeat the same actions over and over again hoping that the next iteration will yield different results?

Married 30 years. B**CH refused to work the last ten years and guess what? Divorced, she got half of everything I worked for including my pension AND is getting alimony for 10 years here in Illinois.
NEVER AGAIN. I now understand why some men are so bitter and will NEVER marry again. As I've told both my sons once they realized their mother was nuts as shit, don't EVER get married, period.

There’s wisdom in that. The rules are all set to screw over the tradcon man. If you are married to a woman who earns what you do, you are safeish. But really, women want kids and it’s unusually to find a woman who is going to keep up.
Sure a minority of guys have such a wife and the following doesn’t apply. For the rest, you WILL LOSE half your stuff, liable to pay alimony, you will pay child support and will lose a chunk of your pension. And what makes you lose? The wife’s choice that she “isn’t happy”. That’s it. If you don’t want to lose, practice saying “yes dear” and give her your balls. If you want to keep your balls, you risk divorce. Jackie Gleason used to say , how sweet it is. Marriage is not that anymore.

The truly sad part about that is that American women do not realize how they are destroying themselves by forcing men with any good set of values to remain aloof from them, if not outright flatly refusing to have any dealings with them.

Due to the way the laws are now structured in this country any male who marries an American female is pretty much guaranteed to lose at least of half of anything he is a part of when the divorce occurs. Many times much more than half... - how much value, exactly, do you place upon the lives and future of your children? And how do you feel about some other male (or female if the gods are feeling mirthful) raising them in your place? With your financial support of course!
Even at the cost of your own ability to live.
Most women I meet believe in what I call the rent-to-own model. Keep having casual sexual relationships until one of them produces a long term relationship which becomes a marriage.
The problem is most casual sex is men sleeping with women who are uglier than them. This has been proven by scientific research. Its not because of men. Men are more than willing to have casual sex with better looking women. But women will only have sex with men equal or higher up. If the man is equal they expect a lot in return to make up for that. If the man is higher up the dating market chart they expect less. So casual relationships revolve around men sleeping with women beneath them in the dating market. This can never turn serious because men only want to get serious with someone at their level.

Women don’t even realize what men want. And men really don’t want much. Frequent sex, be nice, don’t look ugly, don’t be fat. Feel free to correct me if you think I’m mistaken. But as most women don’t understand what a man wants, how could they ever be worth the risk to marry them?
