Yes, he’s made his views clear on this before.

Already UK and Canada have inked large weapons shipments to Saudi Arabia on this.

At the least, better THEY fight their wars and not our soldiers. That might be some of the logic behind this.

But Rand has good points as he often does, Saudi Arabia bombs Yemen with arms we supply them is one thing he has said. I know very little about that war though I do keep up with the basic stories about the Houthis and maybe ISIS and Al Qaeda there too.

I have to disagree with Rand Paul on this issue. I agree with your statements.

And in this instance it should be reviewed by congress. If we were in a declared war and there was a need for the CIC to move around assets and arms, than it might be a different matter. Yeah, Paul is a fly in the ointment here, but it should be reviewed by congress. SHould it be passed? That is for the administration to make the argument.

I’d rather them pay for some of their defense than us having to do all their work.

Even more dangerous to the world than their spending on military weapons is their spending on mosques.

He tried to stop it when Obama started pushing it through last fall but was unsuccessful.

Even Wolf Blitzer mused on air w/ Paul about how many jobs would be lost if we don’t sell billions of dollars in military equipment to the Saudis and various and sundry other Muslims.

McLoon most likely will also be against this since it starts putting the crimps on his blood thirsty attitude for involving us in war resulting in our men and women getting killed.

Rand is back in his loony libertarian world again.

If the rich Saudis don't buy the armaments from our manufacturers, they'll buy it from somewhere else.

The number of jobs created will be fantastico, and the money pumped into our economy will be titanic.

Rand is constantly looking for publicity....and he'll get plenty of it from the doves and peaceniks infesting the enemedia Shame on him!.

Given that deal-maker Trump knows what he is doing, it looks like that by arguing against Trump’s Saudi Arms Deal, Paul will be put in position of being anti-jobs for US citizens.

Rand,

If we want the middle east to do more for their own defense and more i the fight against ISIS they need weapons.

Would you prefer they buy from Russia?

Hopefully some of the profits from those sales will go into R&D rather than for buying more legislators.

Saudi weapon sales are generally safe because you know these idiots wont reverse engineer them and will ask our maintainers to maintain them for a long time, with our full control over them.

What Rand and many people here don’t seem to understand is that you cannot have a viable arms industry without foreign sales. It’s the nature of the business. Once your own armed forces have acquired what they need, in order to keep the factories open you need to sell them to somebody else. And you need to keep the factories open in order to have replacements if you lose a bunch in a war. And we don’t have many customers with the money to buy that much hardware who are strategic allies, at least as far a Iran is concerned.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, argued that by selling tanks and other military equipment to Saudi Arabia the US is essentially joining the war in Yemen without congressional authorization.

Someone let this dumbass know we've been selling hardware to the Saudis for a long, long time.
