My wife and I saw King Arthur last week and enjoyed it. It is a very fanciful story but good.
I know you weren’t serious about the Rock. It’s just that I see too much of the electorate as being easily persuadable by the “People Magazine” type of candidate. Like Ahnold.
Was pretty much what Obama was. And Trump, too, at least at first. Maybe it’s the times now, so that issues and candidates are just too boring for people these days.
Who needs BAYWATCH when the SONY HD channel is showing reruns of Bikini Car Wash movies and such all the time!
Problem is, at my age I’ve forgotten why I used to watch them.
***lets film some beach scenes, throw some babes into the middle of this,***
I saw a couple of the original shows. It didn’t take me long to see, from the camera angles, plot was not the attraction. Strictly a T&A movies for teens.
I bought his movie on Hercules. I was surprised at the lack of any acting ability. Maybe that is why he wants to run for president—on a platform calling for multiculturalism and diversity and no borders.
Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Johnny Depp;
all three overexposed, overly familiar to the public.
Dwayne as been very successful portraying that one Wrestlemania-type character in different settings and with different dialog. He’s 45 y/o, and may want to explore a new twist on movie roles. Otherwise, he keeps moving into Hulk Hogan or Mister T territory, a blustery, over the hill jive talker, locked into a shallow parody figure. Although there is money to be made in playing the parody.
Take them to captain underpants. My son loved those books.
Is this Wonder Woman going to be another movie that shows women karate chopping men, fly kicking them in the groin, bashing men over the head with chairs or shoes, and expecting us to laugh at it all?
Hope not. A little slapstick is fine, even funny, but an excessive amount of such portrayals wouldn’t be allowed in reverse.
They may have ruined it by trying to carry a story line.
“Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Johnny Depp;”
I’ll agree with the first two on your list but IMO, Depp is a talented actor who has a chameleon like ability to become the character he’s playing so much so that it takes a minute or two to figure out it’s him playing the role.
Unlike some actors who can’t escape their name in any role.
Although, Depp certainly has overplayed his hand doing a 5th pirate movie. Should have stopped with the 2nd one but he’d be 10’s of millions of dollars poorer had he done so.
I think he's an "OK" action star. I wouldn't care to see him do Shakespeare, but I think he's fairly appealing as a he-man action star. Most of the great movie stars were not "actors", but types.
Fortunately, the cryptic remarks we’ve seen on Twitter from those who have seen the final version of the film said the best thing about it is the interaction between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (aka Wonder Woman/Princess Diana and Steve Trevor), which actually bodes well for the movie.
I’m serious about thinking he’s cute. I watched “The Scorpion King” at an impressionable age (36).
Having Dwayne Johnson as a presidential candidate would me it’s all over, in terms of this being a republic of responsible people. Seems like a really nice man in many ways (in addition to the inarguable: cute), but so is basically anyone who’s not the Democrat candidate.
I’d vote for a fried egg on toast over the Democrat candidate.
He'd be tens (hundreds?) of millions of dollars richer if he hadn't gotten married to a drug-using lesbian. Talk about stupid people tricks ...
The fact that there IS a review embargo is not a good sign.
It was generally watched with the sound off.
It is no surprise that a movie based on it would be a flop.
Will not be seeing either one. While I enjoyed the first two Pirates movies, the third one really was bad.
Baywatch, I never even watched the TV show. I give Hasselhoff credit for putting out a syndicated TV show that was, for a time, wildly successful, but what a lightweight show. The movie promos looked horrible and Zac Effron is the last person I would have used in this picture.
I only see three possibilities coming out.
New version of “The Mummy” with Tom Criuse
“Atomic Woman”
and the best one for W.W.II guy like me “Dunkirk”.
That is about it.
