A couple of Parisian terrorist attacks ago I noticed French police carrying them.
Is that an endorsement or not? :^)

If they use them in France that means they still work after you drop them, or after they get hit with a hammer.

A couple of Parisian terrorist attacks ago I noticed French police carrying them. That was the CRS (Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité). They've been packing them since at least the early '80s and my guess is that they still have the same guns. I tried asking them about their Mini 14s once but they aren't the least bit chatty.

The French ones tend to lose accuracy each time they’re dropped.

No. French ordnance has never had much to offer. That they chose Mini 14s for police weapons had to do with political correctness (no evil black rifles) and price, not superior performance.
