If you've ever had an inexplicable love for a song that's just strange, post a link to it here. Should be amusing and entertaining for a Saturday night.

It takes a lot of “Discipline” to be Fripp.

Insane talent.

I saw them live in 82 and it was the best show I’ve ever seen.

I can’t find a good version of the the show I saw.

Live at Frejus comes close but not the same show.

I “discovered” Belew late in life. I’d been listening to him for six decades without knowing it. We all have. About the song “1967” he said that he’d been practicing several songs in the tuning DADDAD. And that every time he put his guitar into that tuning he’d work on those several songs. Finally he turned those several songs into one song. I’m glad he did. It never gets tired. Incredible composition.

I saw Crimson in ‘84 at the Greek Theater in Ber(ser)keley. Ditto the best show ever seen. They are so peerless, they had to have a juggler as the opening act. Not just any juggler, but Ray Jason.

He’s a genius, no doubt about it.

When King Crimson re-formed with Belew and the rest I held only a few nostalgic thoughts.

Larks tongue was just one.

Adrian took over the band with his style, energy and compositional talents.

He tested “Pop”, and I think Fripp, who I respect, didn’t want anything to do with it.

I would never take anything away from Fripp, but Belew brought a whole new dimension of prog rock alive. He made it fun.

And if you don’t agree, well, your’e just a “Momur”.

And then stealing the stage from Bowie. We’ve all heard this opening lick but who knew it was Belew?

I love Zappa. All of my dogs’ names since 2000 have been Zappa-inspired. Six, to be exact.

Nevermind the Talking heads.

Then there’s Trent Reznor from NIN.

WOW.

I had to go back and listen again.

Opening riffs make a lot of popular music and this one from Belew is no exception.

Or was it just Belew playing what Bowie wrote?

If you ask me?

Bowie looks as if it’s the first time he’s heard it.

Here Belew puts the the psycho in the Talking Heads “Psycho Killer”. The band talked about dumping Byrne and making Adrian the frontman.

The following is absolutely extraordinary. Mostly adlibbed with the audience becoming the vocals. The power of a gut-string in the hands of a real player. Belew in a Bowie tribute earlier this year.

I’ve seen Belew a half dozen times or more since 1982.

From King Crimson, The Bears, Belew solo, the Power Trio and whatever they called themselves.

From Merriweather Post Pavilion, the old 9:30 club and Jammin Java to name a few.

Adrian Belew is an extraordinary talent.
