The sidebars are missing when I access Free Republic with my laptop and desktop. Checked the laptop my wife uses, and no problem there. The settings on all three appear to be the same. Anyone else experiencing this?

Same problem on my iPad no sidebars and just 12 threads.

Same thing here. I think its when Windows updates and reloads that horrible nightmare called Shockwave. On my computer it seems to make everything not load properly.
I keep my preferences at 20, but my sidebars are still missing.
Must be a browser issue, I’m seeing the sidebars without any issue.
ACCOUNT/THREAD PAGINATION = 20
BROWSING = 20
All I can say is that I currently have sidebars and my pages are loading okay.

There are no ‘preferences’ in either Chrome or Firefox. What browser are you using?
The full page and sidebars work on the HEADERS mode, but not the TEXT mode.
However, this morning I get errors about an insecure connection and bad certificate when I click on "new posts to you" or "My Comments (self-search)" in the Personal Menu. Manually changing "https" back to "http" and refreshing fixes it.
I’m using a Chromebook so I’m not sure if that’s it. It was happening before I did an update this morning.

Reverting back to the recommendation from last time is working for me at this moment.
I can’t Free Republic to load even 20 threads on a page this morning.
Not browser preferences. Free Republic preferences. Look up top, where it says “Account.” Now take it from there.
It gets a bit confusing, but her friend is the cousin of the next door neighbor of the man who is vice-president of the West Virginia Council on Tuna Quality. Hope this helps!

That worked for me on my iPad with chrome browser. 100 (my norm) and 50 didn’t.
Try a different browser and stay at 20.
I’m using Firefox and sometimes Chrome.
The preferences to which I am referring on the ones offered in your FR account—not provided from browsers.
Just go to your FR account and adjust the preferences to 20 and you should be good to navigate.
Apparently you can still post and read. So enjoy the day.
I use Breaking, Front Page and Extended and they all show.
