Don’t Subpoena Me, Bro The Left’s overreach extends to a blogger’s notebook.

My former law partner John Hinderaker and I founded the website Power Line over Memorial Day weekend in 2002. Once we attracted a few readers, we found it a helpful vehicle through which to continue our collaboration, writing commentary for newspapers and magazines, that we had taken up as a sidelight to our law practice in 1992. Over the past 15 years, Power Line has carried us on a magic carpet ride, opening just about every door we ever dreamed of walking through. This spring, to take one prominent example, I was invited to attend President Trump’s 100-day reception for conservative media in the White House.

In a sequel to this particular magic carpet ride, however, I have now been caught up in the so-called “travel ban” litigation challenging President Trump’s executive orders “protecting the nation from foreign terrorist entry into the United States.” On June 10, I was served with a letter and draft subpoena from Tana Lin of the Keller Rohrback law firm’s Seattle office alerting me to my “document preservation obligations with respect to documents that are relevant or potentially relevant to this litigation.” Lin represents plaintiffs in Doe v. Trump, venued before Judge James Robart in the federal district court for the Western District of Washington.

Though the lawsuit had been stayed, pending a recently issued ruling from the Ninth Circuit in the parallel Hawaii v. Trump “travel ban” case, Judge Robart authorized Lin to notify me of the lawsuit and seek my confirmation by June 15 that I would preserve potentially relevant documents until such time as she sends me a formal subpoena or the lawsuit is formally resolved. Surely you jest, I thought hopefully to myself.

The leftist judges are twisting themselves into pretzels to justify their decisions.

These leftist judges need to be slapped down.

They are a threat to the Constitution, and have been for a long time.

Well.. given that most bloggers are thieves and deviants it
is probably best if the whole lot of them are locked up and beaten.

More “typographical errors” and other “oopsies” from the Left as they forgive their every transgression in their never-ending hunt for power.

How coincidental that this harassment of Mr. Johnson takes place at the same time we learn from Judicial Watch that the Susan Rice “unmasking” documents have been sent to a non-existent “Obama Library” to prevent them from becoming public for five years. Leftists play fast and loose with the law to prevent discovery of their misdeeds at the same time they rudely abuse the law to discover what others have documented. They are slimeballs 100% of the time no matter what side of the fence they are on.

The entire travel ban “litigation” has shown the federal courts to be nothing more then Sovietized Kangaroo courts.

The first rejection from the Ninth Circuit and Robarts was dutifully observed by the President with a modfied order.

Not that it was ever incumbent on him to do so, he just did so naively thinking they were being honest.

Silly him.

The second travel ban was taken up by another State AG in a carefully orchestrated scam and resulted in both a federal district court ruling THAT order unconstitutional followed by the Ninth Circuit not just agreeing but going further.

Like the Red Queen in Alice’s Wonderland, there’s no way to win in these Klown Kourts.

They have made a mockery of the judiciary in the United States. We used to laugh at the Soviet system of Proletarian “Justice” which was just dimwitted bullies steamrolling any hapless victim brought before them. Warmbier is a current example.

No one is talking about this but it is unprecedented. The federal judiciary is now a Star Chamber dedicated to persecution of the elected Executive? When did they get that kind of power? Aren’t they always screeching about “three co-equal branches” (which isn’t true anyways)?

If only Joe M. wasn't a victim of the onset of fake news (engineered by leftist scumbag Edward R. Morrow in 1954) we could have nipped this communist takeover in the bud.

My next question would have been, “What else has been sent to the Obama library?”

Glad I went to the site and read the whole thing. Love his response and how the overzealous lawyer (willing to break rules like Hillary during Watergate) had to back down, claiming a ‘mistake”.

It is long past time that limits get imposed on these judges.

-- The federal judiciary is now a Star Chamber dedicated to persecution of the elected Executive? When did they get that kind of power? --

When Trump won the election.

-- Aren't they always screeching about "three co-equal branches" (which isn't true anyways)? --

When it suits their purpose, or facilitates reaching the desired outcome, yes.

I dream for the day that the federal courts are widely seen as the failed and disgraced institution that it is. The travel ban cases is but one manifestation. There are numerous others. Just another servant branch of the globalist plantation.
