New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was photographed lounging at a deserted state-owned beach on Sunday — a beach that has been closed to all other New Jerseyans amid a government shutdown that Christie ordered Friday.
The photos, which were posted to NJ Advance Media’s NJ.com, showed Christie and his family hanging out at the Island Beach State Park on Sunday afternoon before Christie appeared in Trenton for a press conference on the shutdown.
Christie on Friday ordered the shutdown of nonessential services — including state parks — amid a stalemate over whether to include legislation affecting the state’s largest health insurer in the budget.

It makes the George Washington Bridge traffic snarl story look likely, again.
Even Obama didn’t go and pose at one of the National Parks or veteran’s monuments he was paying park rangers overtime to shut down.
Deserted? I saw quite a few people there. Must be all his cronies.
This makes Trump’s instincts on distancing his administration from the Governor, look pretty good.
Anything depicting any part of Christie’s body, Kankles ankles or Moochelle’s ass is bad optics.

The end of Christie’s political career.
That was my thought when Christie closed the parks, for July 4 holiday, no less. It validates the idea that he'd do something vindictive. And to vacation on that closed beach?? What was he thinking?
One of the main complaints about Obama's actions when the gov "wasn't funded" was that closing parks and monuments was vindictive, and didn't punish the lawmakers who can't get their budget obligations done. There are plenty of other things to stop paying instead.
This recording is the Marine Band, NOT the University of Northern Colorado Symphonic Band I was a part of, though that recording is probably out there somewhere.

And anyone there fishing when official word came down was told to leave. At the very least he could have gone somewhere else..for public image if nothing else.
If you are fishing in the tidal zone, then they have no right to ask you to leave. It is an easement.

Chris Christie is extorting the insurance industry for his opioid obsession. He wants so badly to fund his buddies in the addiction industry, he is holding the state hostage. I guess he is angling for a nice cushy VP job at one of these companies.
Are we sure he didn’t just wash up on the beach?

Christie isn’t extorting anyone. The state Assembly — which has 52 Democrats among its 80 members — hasn’t even passed a budget to put on his desk.
