The plight of Charlie Gard – the brain-damaged British baby whose parents recently lost a legal battle to keep him on life support – has now tugged at heart strings as far away as the Oval Office.
President Trump on Monday tweeted his willingness to lend a hand – and in doing so exposed the debate over who should make life-and-death decisions for Charlie to a massive audience.
“If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so,” Trump wrote.

Bring him here, why does Britain refuse? The parents have the money and legal right to do with their child as they please. If they wanted an abortion, they would have all the support in the world from their government . They want to try and save their child and the government says that decision is not theirs. East Germany would be so proud.
This amazes me. I hope Trump does something to help. This is happening in the country led by Churchill, who said “Never give up.” The blood shed to defeat Hitler was for nothing, people are allowing atrocities like this to be done every day.
I’m amazed at God using a publican and a sinner to give our nation a chance to turn from our wicked ways and seek the LORD with all our hearts. May the LORD God of Israel shower us with grace and mercy, and use President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence to protect and defend the downtrodden and defenseless.
