It was probably an agent and may not have even been the one at the gate where boarding took place. I think the airlines are made aware when there are VIPs flying so accommodations can be made if there is a snafu. Whoever was aware of Ann Coulter’s presence may have been a rogue employee and whoever ended up going along with this crap will probably be fired as well.

I flew as a flight attendant on many different planes and there were times due to moving extra baggage we would have to move people from the back to the front for ‘weight and balance’ issues. The order to move never came from a flight attendant.

“The order to move never came from a flight attendant.”

Understood.

But once the lower level people are exposed, they may be willing to deflect the blame by identifying the who and why behind it.

Surprised AC didn’t make more of a stink about it. On the other hand, maybe she did take care of business ‘quietly’.

Maybe they had to accommodate an air marshal? In any event, I am sure there is a record of when and whom made the change in their computer system. If they have a rogue employee who did this, they should be dropped from the job at 30K feet “your fired, leave now”.

Meanwhile I agree with her, which I do not do on many of her zany issues. She needed to make them look bad. Failure to have either posted a reason or provided one to her is damning to them. When I fly on other than Southwest, I pay for and expect to be in the seat I paid for. Given a compelling reason, I MIGHT agree to move but I am not going to move to an interior seat ever as I do not wish to fly besides a window nor in the middle as I don’t wish to crawl over someone to get to the rest room, when they deem it OK for you to arise from your seat.

OT: if it is not safe to get up from your seat during large portions of a flight, why do they allow flying in the first place?

The order to move never came from a flight attendant.

Did I miss something. I thought Ann reported she was moved and the flight crew placed another individual in her seat.

Delta comes out looking bad in this. They might have refunded the amount of the seat upgrade, but what they are really saying is

Ann Coulter, We at Delta reserve the right to do this to you each and every time you get stuck flying our airline.

Ann made a decision to fly Delta and it might have all been about that one option to upgrade for more leg space.

I agree with one proposal I saw. Delta should offer free upgrades to first class to Ann. She is taking them to class on their classless customer service.

After a recent event where a customer was assaulted by a flight crew for not reining in their behavior, what else was Ann to do but to Kotow, and that word is not in her vocabulary.
